I have four cars under different covers. All of them get varying amounts of moisture depending on the weather. The silver BMW genuine nappy/ type cover is next to useless and is ok for a garage queen. The soft fleece type are great for inside/fully breathable. The storm force doesn’t scratch the ca...

Hi. Looking for a service agent with Z3 experience in Hampshire,
My Z3 3litre sport needs a service - I think it's just the oil change service - although I think it needs some other work as the engine light is back on again. Does anyone know of a good independent mechanic/service centre in the South? I live near Portsmouth. Don't ally want to take it to a main de...

Re: Code reader in Havant - Portsmouth area?
Thanks again and an interesting debate. I don't have a misfire - or at least if I do it does not show any signs. My Z is a 3.0 sport and it starts up and pulls fine - it's just that the light came on on Friday and is still on and that gives me some concern as I don't want to cause any damage to the ...

Thanks. A few options there then. I have a laptop so not so much of a cost problem- except Windows Vista!!
The light is still on today. Could it be cat related? Hope not!
I'm away for a few days so won't get on to it in earnest for a week or so.

Notice the seller has put the MOT Mileage up on ebay now- seller says he's just found out and how devastated he is and that's why he's dropped the starting price. Good luck anyone bidding.

I'm tempted to buy second hand OEM ones but there's not a lot of difference in the price for a new cleaner look non-OEM set. I've looked at these and they're advertised for £185 new plus £35 shipping from the US. That seems too good a price. Anyone got any thoughts or alternative experience. Can the...

Ok so the questions now are: 1. Draining the old oil out- can this be done with the car on the ramp of do you need to drop the box? 2. Which to go for? OEM oil, Amsoil or Fuchs, or any other? I'm concerned the Amsoil might not be that good in the UK cool winter weather. Any experiences out there? Th...

I agree with Steve aka Freck99. It's about the current flow - the more watts being drawn. It's not dissimilar to an electric heater or a toaster- think about the difference in the thickness of the cable between, say a small table lamp and your toaster or kettle. And if the cars circuits are designed...

Breaking it would be sacrilege surely? That's like having a perfectly healthy pet orangutang (i.e. an endangered species) and killing it off coz you need to upgrade to a buffalo.
Well it's probably nothing like that but you get the point?
I wish I had the spare loot and the place to park it.

I think I have a touch of the old 5th gear shift pin problem discussed on http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=489800. I'm planning a Eurotrip in our Z3 3.0 sport for the summer and envisage needing more storage space. I want to improve the lights on my Z which is in Estoril Blue. I like the ideas of the chrome look but wonder if it is a bit flash?
