Think it was just before i bought it. Defo not a cut and shut as being x mechanic id have noticed.Defo been light front end. Car is perfect and I've just put new callipers and pads put on on Thursday.

As you both have trouble in reading the add i put up, it clearly states "the last one i did up",this was to show example of my work not this car.The previous post was for a different car which cost me £1000 and yes it was a 2.8 as a different car.Read the add before posting remarks.

bmw z3 stereo plug as no speakers working
went to put a new stereo in the car today but cant get any of the speakers working. Putting in a jvc instead of the sony that was there.the wiring harness i have for stereo to bmw harness all seem good but my plug doesnt have a connection with number 3 or 7 on the bmw plug.could actually be 4 and 7....

cutting out
as above.car runs fine with know problems but if its sitting ticking over after a few minutes it cuts out.starts up fine again and will tick over for few mins then cut out again.any ideas?2.8 pre-face lift.

i think i will be removing decals as look a bit naff.genuine wheels.selling as complete package,wheels,reg,hardtop all going with the car.Think the car is sold pending viewing as was more about the resto rather than making a fortune.Solong as i cover my labour costs when sold i'll be happy.

ok so can use the atf he gave me for my gearbox which has the yellow sticker.Regarding the ls80w-90 diff oil he gave me can i use that or am i better to go buy 75w-140?

cheers for that but it still doesnt say for defo that the atf can be used as could end up expensive mistake.

as we have said get a stainless made for it.ye its expensive but will be half the price you will pay for a after market one,it will sound better,and you can choose the style of tailpipe you want on it.as soon as it fires up you,ll be happy you spent the cash on a stainless. had this problem with my z 2.8.get a stainless made as i am doing as its working out cheaper and will last a life time plus is also a good selling point in the future.you wont find a cheap after market one.

very true.Being an X mechanic I was nearly all about stripping the motor out and replacing as had checked all the wiring and everything getting power only to ask on here to find out plain and simple put your foot on the brake.priceless.Technology!What happened to good old air,fuel,spark!

managed to get a set of z3 M front struts for her as i bought apex lowering springs for an M and the springs dont fit the original 2.8 legs due to the cup size being bigger in diameter compared to the new springs which are smaller for the M struts. will build up front legs and suspension once i get ...

under statement. at 30 mph felt like all 4 wheels in different directions as was all over the road but this helped me get it for bargain price of a £1000 .old girl is in the gallery section with thread on whats been done and getting done as nearlly finished the old girl.

yes defo as not everything is made the exact same so wishbones,bushes may have very slight change in size/shape so will put the tracking out and for the price of the tracking and piece of mind better to do rather than finding out when your tyres have worn uneven or worse your steering doesnt feel ri...
