Revovo cleaner is very good, I gave the hood three applications and the muck comes off with a bit of scrubbing with hot water. Cleaning the hood revealed some serious fading as shown in these photos. http://i1319.photobucket.com/albums/t677/pfl969/roof2_zps8a8dcdb0.jpg http://i1319.photobucket.com/a...

I knew there was a smell in my car - I thought it was the damn cat again! :shake: Just waiting for call back from a PPCGB I think they're called - looking for the original (?) Sachs shocks. Just put some Renovo cleaner on the roof, left it an hour and done the first bit of scrubbing - oh boy was it ...

How log did the rebuild take? Did you manage to end paying the price that was originally quoted? Will you have to treat the engine as new i.e. run it in again?

Ok - I've just spoken to the chap at Surrey Rolling Road to organise a discount and get bit more info. The standard price for the service "Power Run" is £50.00. The number of runs is dependent on the state of the car so can be between 1-4 runs. If there are 2-10 cars the price falls to £40...

Joycey - I have no idea (obviously) what a stem seal is. Every time I read your post I think of 'stem cell' and whether my car can be cloned from a shard of metal - this is what happens when you look at graphs all day. Luckily, Broadmoor is not far.

Yeha I'm pretty keen to get it on the dyno in the state its in now and then after its had a service. I can feel the difference in the car already from having it off the road to putting through two tanks of Shell Nitro through it.
I think it would be a good experiment.

I actually phoned them (DVLA) up and they were really helpful. The car was SORN and I got it MOTd to get it back on the road. In order to get the road tax you need amongst other things the log book which was missing. So I just called them up and explained the situation and paid for the tax over the ...

Project PFL 969 - Passenger Seat
Just wanted to say a big 'thanks' to Joycey and his Dad for spending countless hours last Saturday helping with sorting out he cars issues. Big thanks to zederbee for hooking up the car yesterday with the INPA software. A couple of old errors were thrown up but nothing too major. One error which we couldn't fathom was a charge of greater than 16.5 V going to the ABS. Odd but we didn;t have a multimeter to conduct more tests. MOT day! Ho...

Re: MOT -Advisories
In case anyone is interested, I have found some Eibach springs for the M which are 180+VAT. Whilst researching springs it appeared that Eibach does not produce a set for the Z3M. However Rossiters (Chris 01485 5442000) can 'special order' these from Eibach. The lead time for delivery is late March t...

Re: Boot lid brake light, wet, wet, wet!
I had to strip down my third brake light as water had been seeping in corroding the sockets in the light housing. The lens etc was full of corroded gunk and the seal was in pretty bad shape. I replaced the seal - I think the seal was about £2/£3 so definitely worth doing.

Brian4, you have every reason to have rant, it's pretty incomprehensible that some testers are marking down advisories out of context essentially devaluing a cars value to potential buyers. Anyhow, tomorrow's Saturday and all is well!
