Loss of power

My 2.8 seems under powered at low revs when cold, struggles to pick up speed in high gears. When the engine is hot it turns over 6 times when trying to restart it and then is very underpowered in all gears. Any ideas gents?

Thanks for the input, thinking of having the old motor rewound. Do you need to remove the front bumper to remove it?

Im looking to have my top replaced soon and have been quoted silly money here in Devon. I notice on the photo's from the orginal poster that the old hood had relief pockets behind the side windows but the new one does not. Does this make a difference? What do they do?

This request comes up quite regularly including from me. They rarely seem to be available second hand. When I needed one a few months ago I was directed to a main dealer, available there for £25ish. A few on ebay at the time were £30ish. Good luck. That's sounds expensive. I got one off an arctic s...

Some liners on Ebay going for about £30 each, obviously 2nd hand and I'm guessing will show signs of wear. The mirror you may struggle with as many will have corrosion, a good one will set you back approx. £120 or so.
