Well I suppose at least it's not just me who's messed this up before! Will keep it all posted in the gallery section for who's interested. Gonna try stripping the paint and starting again and if it fails a second time I'll probably just use carbon fibre effect vinyl.

Currently in the process of colour coding my centre console to match the car. I did 2 primer coats and 2 arctic silver coats. These went fine. Did the last silver coat wednesday afternoon and did the lacquer today. Something went wrong as in places its gone wrinkley is the best way to describe it. D...

Sounds like at least one wire is broken if central locking doesn't work. I had this problem. Followed the guide in the knowledge base. Ordered all the same bits from the same place as he did. Was dreading doing it but it is so easy to do I thought I'd missed something!

Sprayed using bmw arctic silver spray paint from halfords. Just done one coat today. Has anyone else done this? Did you put a second coat on before lacquering? Then I'm gonna put 2 coats of lacquer on for protection. Next on the list to order are leather boomerangs with red stitching. Black gaitors ...

Got 2 wheels ready for spraying today. Put some chemical metal on the two that are rubbed down ready to spray aswell. Looking good Marty. One question though: how do you blend it in where the wheel meets the tyre? Is it a case of let the tyre down and push it out the way So You can get around The Back Of The lip so to Speak? Some paint has peeled on the edges of mine and I'm attempting it myself but not sure about ...

Cheers for all the replies guys. Doing some googling it appears there's 2 types of refurb. Having them stripped and painted or stripped and powder coated. General opinion seems to be that powder coating is the worse one to have. Can anyone confirm

Yeah mine is apart from a stormworks v1 gear knob. Got plans to do various things but i always seem to spend the money on other things. Only other things I've done have been to make it back to standard ie... fix third brake light leak, new aerial grommet and boot loom repair

a new (to me) centre console. plan is to spray it to match the body work. The interior is currently black leather black centre console and It just seems a bit plain

1.9 16v locally I get about 170-200 miles out of £40. best I've ever got was from a full tank I was just over half full after 250 miles on motorways and dual carridge ways. At the end of the day we don't buy these cars for their mpg. I do get some weird looks from non petrol heads when I say this!

A tonneau cover, new aerial grommet, parts to fix the boot loom issue, LEDs for the boot. About time it got a bit of attention now that big yellow thing is appearing in the sky more often

you can get the grommet off eBay. pre face lift and post facelift are different so make sure you get the right one. I got my brake light seal from the main dealers a few month ago for £5 next day delivery
