i used KD Burns in Prudhoe, Northumberland & they did a top notch job. Not the cheapest I suspect but very good. Darren is the guy to speak to.
Spot on - thank you very much!

Will do some investigating and get sorted.

Re: Sill Repair/Replacement

Thanks for the advice chaps - I thought as much. Can anybody recommend a bodyshop for work of this nature? I've had minor repairs done here and there, which I have been reasonably please with, but would like to be more confident in somebody for such a big job. Travel isn't much of an issue. Thanks a...

Sill Repair/Replacement

Evening all, Was doing some tender loving with my car tonight with some polish and was shocked when I noticed the sills have started to go at the front ends. They are starting crack from the underneath with some mild crumbling where they are visible from the wheel arch. Nothing too serious yet and h...

Re: Which wheels?

Well, you won't get any change in the height of the arch gap by changing the wheels, because the ride height will still be the same but you'd significantly improve the look if you either use spacers to push the rears out to meet the wheelarch, or fit wider rear wheels to achieve the same effect. In...

Which wheels?

Evening all, Just musing over a couple of options while the car is garaged over the winter. Something that hasn't sat right with me is the car's stance (no pun intended). It has the 16" wheels which I think look silly in the rear arches. They seem to swallow up the wheels when looking down the car f...

Did I miss something...

Evening chaps, Was there by any chance a cruise organised today in the Lake District? The Mrs and I were in the Hellrot II Z3 Sport and couldn't help thinking I was going the wrong way, as a succession of fabulous Z3s were coming towards us. Shout out for the flashes and waves of hands, put an even ...

Re: Watch Servicing

Thanks very much chaps, this is really helpful. My uncle has a vast collection and has advised that servicing is not mandatory as modern oils are so pure. But as I wear the watch regularly I am conscious of wear on the springs. The bracelet and side the case with the crown are also a little scratche...

Re: How comfortable are your tyres?

Thanks for all of your responses!

I think I will go with something like the doubled-over door mat. It won't make too much of a difference I think, as it only sits through winter.

April can't come quick enough...

Are there any cruises/drives pencilled in around the North in the summer?

Re: Watch Servicing

In fairness, some of the premium watches like the brands mentioned are precision instruments and need to be cleaned by experts. Something like a traditional movement Rolex Submariner – is waterproof to a certain depth and so an OE service would involve fitting new o-rings to the case and winder – w...

Re: Watch Servicing

Thanks very much for all your replies. However, the Calibre 5 movement in my TAG is automatic, so does not use a battery.

That being the case, I would imagine it will have to be sent away?

How comfortable are your tyres?

Hello one and all! I came across these recently while scouring the world wide web: http://www.astonmartin.com/en/shop/car-accessories/care-protection/tyre-cushions While I am sure you'll agree that is a lot of money and that there are bound to be cheaper unbranded alternatives available, has anybody...

Watch Servicing

Hello one and all! Just wondering if there is anybody out there who would be able to advise how much I should expect to pay Berry's, Goldsmiths, Beaverbrooks etc for a service on my TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 5. It will shortly be due a service, which TAG Heuer recommend is carried out every 2 years....

Hi Chaps, Thank you for all your insight. It looks like Hamiltons are the way to go, since BMW covers are so rare. Funny how peeps are putting their Zed away for winter as I will be getting mine out of summer storage for the winter :P Tim. Tim, I hope the car has been treated with Waxoyl - the bette...

Winter Storage

Hi Chaps,

Looking for an official BMW Z3 indoor car cover - does anybody have any pointers of where to find one?

I am periodically checking eBay, but no luck so far...

Many Thanks

Lake District Drive

Hi everyone, Since I couldn't make it to the Peak District cruise on the 6th April, I went for a drive across to the Lake District with a friend to blow the cobwebs out. I run my own motoring website; http://www.driversplanet.co.uk where you will find road tests, news, and more. I am a freelance aut...

Re: An Introduction From a New Member

Welcome! That rear window price is sky high, shop around, you'll easily half that price if not more. There's a peak district cruise on April 6th. Come along and join in. Should be a good day out. You could be at a meeting point in a hour and a half from where you are. There's a thread running if yo...
