Hi all After nearly 6 years with this very special Z I’m testing the market with a view to scratching my TVR itch. Thought I’d pop it on here first, where I first found it in 2013 from a wanted ad, and bought it after 9 months of searching elsewhere. It’s a 2002 3.0 Sport in Black Sapphire with blac...

Window angle adjustment - top bolts
Hi all
Got my drivers side door card off to adjust angle inwards a bit. Have adjusted bottom bolts but pillar has not moved. Seem to remember there are top bolts to adjust as well but can’t find them. Any ideas where they are?
Many thanks!

Mine does this every year for a week or two after the MOT. Then stops and doesn’t re-show all year.
I’ve no logical explanation other than the test upsets the sensors and system a bit. Or it’s just total coincidence!
Cheers

I've had mine MOT'd at a few different places over the years and I often get the ABS / DSC light on after. It soon goes back out again. Stopping engine and restarting quickly a couple of times seems to clear it. Never had it any other time apart from just after MOT.......

Re: Window angle adjustment
That's magic advice, thank you. I'd not twigged the higher bolts / screws behind the door card. That will make the process a whole lot more effective, as I'd only adjusted the lower bolts on their own, which just introduced stress in the whole frame and channels rather than actually moving it. It's ...

Re: Window angle adjustment
Thanks. It's the last item on there that's the issue. If I tried to close the paper in, you can just about pull it out. It's not a height issue, it's the angle, ie window not pressing on seal enough, and not as much as passenger side. I have adjusted bottom rail bolts but they don't make any differe...

Hi all The Z3 is going to be living outside for a few weeks while we have some garage roof work done. My drivers side window angle isn't quite enough to get a good seal on the roof rubbers. I have moved the bolts at the bottom of the door, but that hasn't made much of a difference. Have taken gromme...

This is just a guess so perhaps take it with a pinch of salt but if the ECU has recalibrated for the extra air intake, it might need an ECU reset to push it back to original factory settings once its blanked off again. I've not researched this concept on the Z3 but on modern tin tops its a case of d...

Update - bmminiparts came back quickly - about £180 which is a tenner or so cheaper than any dealer quote so have placed the order. Do be very wary of the timing chain issue on 4 pot BMW diesels. Those affected are the N47 engines, from around that time. Service history etc is irrelevant. Failure rate seems to be about 1 to 2% but if it happens it will write the car off. I know 2 people that this has happened to in our relativel...
