Gas Strut needed for boot lid

Hi all

I need a second gas strut for my boot lid (I bought the other one last year). They seem to vary hugely in price online. Anyone recommend a cheap supplier?

Changing the alternator and power steering belts

Could someone help please - does anyone have a diagram of how to put on the alternator and power steering belts on a 1997 Z3. A member kindly sent me a diagram, but unfortunately it was for a different model/year and it's not like mine. :?

Re: Drainage cups for soft top (behind seats)

Thanks, but sorry I'm not much clearer. I've found a little tube under the car which must come from the drainage "cup" at that side, but still haven't found where they are. Would be very grateful for a pic.

Drainage cups for soft top (behind seats)

Can someone please send a pic of where these drainage "cups" are, so I can check that they're not blocked. I can't find them anywhere behind the seats??!! :head:

Re: My First Car.

My first car was a Ford Pop 97E which was sold to me by a man I knew when I was first married. After both our first marriages failed, we married and have been happily driving sports cars of some type or another (Frog-eye Sprite, MGB GT etc) for the last 30 years! Incidentally, we hand-painted the Fo...

Thanks for all replies - nearly everything suggested has been checked, but where are boot welds located? (yes, yes, obviously they're in the boot, but where are we talking about?)

I'm new to this site - just got my zed and it's missing a boot strut - do you still have it by any chance. If so, I'd like it please.

What are the weak spots on a Z3 1999 pre-facelift?

As a new owner, can someone advise what are the main trouble spots on a 1999 Z3? Are some parts difficult or near-impossible to obtain? From the posts on here, I've gathered that it pays to keep the wing mirror supports rust-free, and that BMW mudflaps are unavailable. Anything else I should specifi...

Scratches on Window at Driver's Side

Does anyone know if it's possible to get rid of horizontal scratches on my Zed's driver's side window. Saw them in the sunshine today and they looked bad. Can they be polished out if not deep, or am I looking at new glass? If new glass, where would I get it from?

Re: Fiji Green??

I love my Fiji Green Zed, it's what attracted me (and my husband) to it in the garage, and everyone who's seen it loves the colour (yes, the men too). There are too many Silver and dark colours to my mind, and if you're going to get a Z3, FLAUNT IT! The piping on the seats is fab too. As has been sa...

Re: Chrome strips on step into car - 1999 model

Thanks everyone. No, I think it's part 6 (just the thin strip in the middle). It looks like corroded chrome, but possibly not? Can that be replaced on its own?

Can someone please tell me what the chrome strips are called on the ledge under your foot as you step into the car, so I can order some.
Also could anyone recommend a good place to get them? Thanks.

FIJI GREEN Z3 - PAINT NEEDED

Hi

I've just bought a 1999 Z3 1900cc in Fiji Green. Anyone else got one this colour? I'm trying to find a source of spray paint and touch-up kit. Any information would be very welcome. Thanks.

Mint Green Z3 1999

Hi, I'm new to this site. My husband just bought me a 1999 Z3 1900cc in Mint Green (not metallic), which is in good nick apart from one wheel arch, which needs some respraying. BMW tell me they no longer supply the paint colour (Code 413). I've searched sites on the net who say they can mix BMW colo...
