Mesh Wind deflector for collection near Manchester - £40

Not really posted on here much, mainly because I wrote off my z3 back in September while driving like my age would suggest. :head: I'll attach some photos if anyone wants to see the aftermath, although it wasn't pretty. (The tree came out significantly better-off than the car.) Luckily I was fine an...

Re: Falling Prices

I might be putting myself forward for some criticism here, but one of the main reasons I bought my z3 is because of how little they are worth nowadays, this is mainly because I'm a 19 year old with a reasonably low wage. The choice was either; to spend 3 grand on a 1.2 saxo with the biggest selling ...

Re: European Road trip!

Whats Croatia like as we are thinking of it next year, as we will have done the Alps and Pyrenees twice after we go in August Croatia was probably the best driving environment of the whole trip in fairness. The motorways are all freshly laid, straight and rarely busy. Definitely recommend driving d...

Re: European Road trip!

Managed to get a few photos of the car and a couple of the places we visited but the images really don't do them any justice but I'll upload them anyway... Re: European Road trip!

Glad to announce that after almost 3,000 miles we have returned from our Road Trip and the z3 didn't miss a beat. Even at stand still traffic in mid day at 40 degrees the oil temperature never moved and the car managed 8 hours of constant abuse on the autobahn with ease. Even managed to squeeze 136m...

Re: European Road trip!

I'm from Timperley just near the Hale/ Altrincham area so right at the very north of cheshire. There's quite a few Z3s in the area, none of them ever seem to wave back though  Huge relief to have finally got the wind deflector fitted. Less than a week before the trip begins! :squeeze:

Re: European Road trip!

Wow I couldn't have made more of a mess of this. Halfords had the right size screws however they were too long so I could only put the lower screw into the seatbelt post on each side. Then after I'd reassambled the whole interior I discovered that one of the wind deflector mounts was loose. This can...

Re: European Road trip!

Right I think you've hit the nail on the head there! I need 4 screws to go into the side of the metal seatbelt anchor posts. So yeah you're right they'll be the same as the ones used for the roll hoops. What size screws are they then? Do you have a link to any at b&q, Homebase, Halfords etc... (...

Re: European Road trip!

Thanks for all the information guys! Wind deflector arrived yesterday and after tearing up my interior to fit the thing I have found that there are four screws missing. I have the type I deflector and I'm missing the 4 screws (2 each side) that clamp the turret-cylinder-thing inside the seat belt po...

Re: European Road trip!

Sadly our trip doesn't involve going through Sweden at any point! The journey involves driving through England, Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. Has anyone got any experience driving through these countries? I'm hearing contrasting info about buying a 'vignette' for using the highway...

Re: European Road trip!

Thanks for the quick response chaps! Had a look at the spare wheel and everything seems to be in working order which is nice. I went on a bit of a motorway drive this weekend and I've come to the conclusion that a wind deflector will be essential for the trip. With my car being a 1997 model without ...

European Road trip!

At the end of the month I'm taking the z3 on a tour of europe. The trip will consist of driving from my home in Manchester to Hull, where I'll be getting a ferry to Rotterdam and driving to Amsterdam. After 2 nights in Amsterdam I'm going down to Munich for one night and then heading down to Hideout...
