Does anyone have any experience of using the above to fit a phone into a Z3? Your thoughts on quality, fit etc would be appreciated, they are expensive to buy and I want to make sure it fits ok, any pro`s/con`s etc. Thanks, Steve.

Bit of a stupid question really, how do the grills come off? Are they in two parts and you remove the inner first or the outer first? How do the clips come apart, lever with a screwdriver? Thanks, Steve.

Tyres (again!!)
At present I have Conti Sport 2`s all round and am pleased with the performance. However I have a slow puncture in the OSR ( ) and am looking to change the rear pair, which is a bit of a bugger as they have at least 6mm of tread left. I`ve read various comments on keeping all four corners the...

Re: Halfords tool sets for carrying out Z3 overhaul
Just thought I`d comment on the Halfrauds Professional Tools, I`ve had a number of them during the years and generally found them to be of good quality. The one issue I had was dealt with promptly with a replacement. DON`T buy the sets, it may work out a bit cheaper but as otheres have stated you en...

Re: Thermostat changing
In this situation the bolts are not "rusted" in, they seize as a result of electrolytic reaction between two dissimilar metals. i.e the alloy head and the zinc plated bolt. If you are taking out the old ones then I would suggest giving the point at which the bolt meets the head a good dosi...

The Z3 appears in the Dec issue of Classic MNotoring on page 62. The article was 7 different sports cars that are a bit more "modern". The Z was described as "grossly underrated" and "with it`s long muscular bonnet and stubby tail it looks pleasingly retro but not overtly so...

I`ve not had this issue but check the following: Contact area should be perfectly clean before application, use an alcohol based cleaner if possible and wait for any residue to evaporate before applying sticky lights Make sure there is no polish (contains silicone) on the are which would prevent the...

Okay Chaps, See the pictures attached for the wire, This is located in the interior mirror arm and comes from the header rail. The mirror is not auto dipping, the wipers are not automatic so it`s not a sensor! I`ve looked in the Bentley book and cannot trace it either thru` the wiring diagram or the...

I have searched the forum with no success! I`m looking for a valeter to "do" the paintwork on the Z, there are a couple of minor imperfections which I think are bird sh*t on the paint that will not polish out. Preferably someone who will come to the house. Any ideas/recommendations? Cheers...

@Alan W; our cars are now, at best, ten years or more older. I guarentee that everyones cars has been "modernised" in some way, even if it`s just the replacement of parts. Tyres, for example will be better than the originals due to changes in compounds etc so you are telling me I shouldn`t...

Hi Robert, thanks for the reply but I don`t think I explained very well. When you operate the indicators they "latch" on and self cancel as they should but lane changing on the motorway for example requires you to operate and then switch them off. I appreciate you can just hold the stalk w...

Indicator upgrade (possibly!!)
Having picked up my Z last weekend there is a niggling issue which I would like to address, namely that of having to operate the indicators everytime! By that I mean having to turn then off, for example when exiting a roundabout. More modern cars come with indicators that if you just press the stalk...

Newbie & Z3 2.2i
Chaps, going to view a 2001 2.2i Z3 tomorrow so what do I look for?
VANOS?? Is it as bad as some say or related to the S50 (?) series engine only?
DISA Valve? Does it make that much noise when going/gone?
Boot floor? Do I need to worry about that on a 2.2 litre engine?
Thanks
Steve.
