how about a smaller window, ive had a new roof recently, and have been very careful when lowering, making sure the window is clean and using the bmw towel, but the window is still getting marked already.

when i first got my 2.8 i thought the gearchange a bit notchy compared to my 1.9, but changing the oil and 4000miles later i find it good, try another z3 to compare it to.

i will second what tilly says about the 1.9, i had the alledged underpowered m43, still great fun to drive and a pleasure to own, and in many ways easier to get along with, although the z3 i always wanted was the earlier style wide body, which is what i have now with the 2.8 single vanos engine, i t...

I first noticed that clicking sound when driving slowly along dry stone walled country lanes, at first i thought something within the handbrake drum, so had both rear drums off for a clean, when putting them back together, and rotating the the hub to set the brake shoes, again heard the nearside cli...

Well, had a go at greasing my driveshaft joints, found some comma cv lith moly grease at the local motorfactor, worked a treat, thank you for all the comments and advice,made an easy and cheap fix, that i had first thought would be expensive.

This has most likely been said before , had a new roof fitted to my z3 today, paul from softtop shop, came to my workplace and did the job, not a job i would attempt myself lol, i am very pleased with the result, my old roof had seen better days, and the window held together with tape,wow, the roof ...

hi, the cv joint at the wheel end has started clicking, its not to bad yet, replacement soon, are the driveshafts the same across the range, z3 is a 97 2.8, there are lots of 1.9 shafts on fleabay, hence the question

Theres a lot to do, but a doner car seems to be the way to go, from past swops ive done, theres allways something extra you need to finish the job, and nice to have some extra spares, i did think about putting a bigger engine in mine, tho i do wonder how it will effect insurance, theres a 3litre jus...

wow, all this fuss over two similar cars, both fun to drive, and easy to run, lots of rubbish thrown at the z3, yet people love them, mx5 is a rust bucket etc, just go buy either and enjoy it for what it is, simples!

When looking at z3, i never considered a 4pot, got to have a black 6pot, went and had a look at quite a few, then sort of gave up on the idea, then spotted what i thought a quite a cheap lowish mileage 1.9, mmmm, bought it, 6000miles later, its a brill car, love driving again. read lots of good thin...

Had a drive out today, spotted very shiny steel grey z3 in stapleford, then on the a46 one silver, two black and a red one, been a great day for top down drive, even had blue sky in skegness lol

the kit cost me £47, all the rubber bits and nice new pistons,from bigred as in del post,well worth doing, my car drives so much better now

thank you all for your replies, a meet sounds good, probably get me droolin over shinier z3,s. i fully agree on the addiction the z3 causes, a workmate who took the mickey when i first turned up in mine, had a drive, and now wants one, he who laughs last hey. ive allways judged my motorbikes on grin...

Hi all, got myself a z3 at last, decided i wanted a black 6cyl car, but ended up buying a boston green 1.9, absolutely love it, even her indoors has took a shine to it, it has faults, but i am working through them, and it is being used everyday at the moment, so far finding it is an easy car to work...
