Re: Did the Z3 3.0 have "M Sport" suspension as standard?

I have a 3.0i roadster manufactured March 2001 and I checked mine on the online VIN checker and doesn't show M Sport Suspension as a factory fitted option (but it does have LSD) Also my 2002 Z3 brochure (albeit a German edition) states that M sport suspension was an option on all roadster models (1....

Are these the best factory-fit alloys on a Z3 ever!?

Was browsing some Z3's on autotrader and pistonheads earlier today (as you do) - and entered the VIN of one that was particularly nice and was surprised to find this listed under the options: S268a - BMW light-alloy star-spoke 95 quick google shows that it is a 19" alloy that was an option on a...

Re: Service reset

Same procedure as an oil reset but just hold on the terminals for a different amount of time, I think it is in the knowledge base. I had a read through knowledge base about reseting and I think if I do that then it will reset the oil/inspection interval aswell which I don't want to do that - i just...

Hi Guys, Does anyone know how to access the service menu in the OEM BMW Business RDS cassette head unit? I want to set up the GALA (where the volume increases as your speed increases and you dont have to keep turning the volume up with the knob) I cant find it in the manual and tried this method i s...

Neutro's Z3 3.0i

Hello all! I thought I would finally get round to sharing and posting some pics of my zed :) - I took him for a drive on Sunday afternoon and then gave him a wash and wax when I got back. He was looking so good parked on the drive seemed a shame not to 8-) So after months of being shy and not feelin...

No one else up for this?. There's a good turnout on .org for it. Should be a cracking day. :) I would have put myself down to come as I would have liked to have met some more fellow zedders including .org members and seen all the diff roadsters and specs etc...but my zed is still needing some more ...

Re: What to look for ? (viewing Z3 tomorrow)

oh really? :) I was sure I saw an article about doing it and it was very involved with having to leave the product (can't remember what brand it was) to work on the lense for so long then rinse-off then apply something else, scrub that, then polish something else on etc... it all seemed very long wi...

yalden - I may be (and it's a big maybe because I do love it) - but I MAY be considering selling mine soon - for a number of reasons. Cost of running and cost of bits I want to replace with genuine OEM parts being the main factors. The spec is: 3.0i non-sport Sapphire black metallic bridgestone tyre...

you may have already gone off to look at the car by the time I post this but I will put it up anyway :D Having hunted for months looking for my z3 last year I thought I would post some insight into my personal take on buying a good one. Firstly, I wouldn't be overly concerned with mileage unless it ...

Re: WANTED STYLE 18 (5 SPOKE) ALLOYS

I currently have the type 78 wheels on my 2002 sport which while looking great are a PITA to clean you think the 78's are bad - I have the styling 42 with the slightly narrower closer together spokes and the bolts round the side which are so awkward to get round! - but once cleaned they do look the...

Ok, so after 2hrs this afternoon. I have finally managed to remove all of the nasty hands-free kit and stereo is all nice and neat back in postion. 8-) As Colb expected there was a HF unit tucked behind the glove box which led to a spaghetti of wires. http://i62.tinypic.com/2eowp7b.jpg One went off ...

Re: Hands-free remnant removal and head unit fix - help need

Ok, sounds like I just need to be a bit firmer with the loom to detach it from the head unit I'll have a go at removing the speedo unit then if its just 2 screws and can rest it on steering column. May be able to get a torch and a mirror in there to see at the back and where the head unit is getting...

Re: Hands-free remnant removal and head unit fix - help need

I could be wrong but I think the speedo will come out without removing the rest... I seem to remember its just 2 screws at the top... it just happens to be the umpteenth job listed on the full interior removal Ok Bertie will have a look in knowledgebase and a read-through again, would be handy if I...

Re: Hands-free remnant removal and head unit fix - help need

Thanks Colb you are proving very helpful here :) Ok, will leave the black cable alone if its OEM - but that just makes it even more confusing as to why the head unit won't go back in on that right side :? because there is nothing else obstructing it unless its the aerial cable is getting wrapped aro...

Re: Hands-free remnant removal and head unit fix - help need

You could try removing the speedo and/or the trim under the steering wheel - that might let you see behind... I don't really want to have to follow the dash removal guide as far as taking out the speedo. That stage is quite far down the page and includes taking out the steering wheel and most of th...
