Re: What's it worth? 3.0 Z3 Sport. 21k miles, 2 owners, 51

Cooper BMW Cobham Surrey have just valued my 2001 Z3 2.2 with 11,500m from new at £12,000. I valued it at £10,000, insurance company wouldn't go with that but gave me an agreed value of £8,995.

Z3 engine brace

I often hear the recommendation to fit an engine brace to my 2.2i, (I believe they were fitted as standard to the 2.8). Looked them up on eBay and found various different makes around the £130 mark, none of them official BMW original equipment, but one of them claims it's better than any others for ...

Re: Alloy wheel fitment

I have actually resolved this issue. Offset is something to be considered when obtaining replacement wheels, but it's not the issue here. The issue was whether or not 17.5J x 17" wheels, intended for Z3 (so offset measurement, 41, not an issue), - could be placed all round, rather than using wi...

Re: Alloy wheel fitment

Just seen this, - timely - I've been offered a set of 7.5J x 17" Round Spoke Style wheels which I'd like to use to replace the aging standard Five Star 7J x 16" wheels on my 2001 Z3 2.2i Roadster. However all the literature suggests I need wider 8.5J wheels on the rear. This was the option...

RIGHT HAND SIDE WINDSCREEN WIPER ARM

I bent mine by closing the bonnet down on it. (not to be recommended)! Can anyone assist as to where I might get one, ie., it's in stock & available? Or anyone have a decent used one perhaps? The main agents cannot at this time find one. Thus my Z3 would theoretically fail the MOT and in any eve...

Current values? I paid £8,995 for my 2.2i manual <10k, there's a 1.9 auto with 19.5k on sale on Autotrader right now for £6000, http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201502110871446/sort/default/dealer-id/19517/radius/20/model/z3/usedcars/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew/make/bmw/page/1/postcode...

Re: Had a Z3 and now thinking about a Z4

What a great phrase, - "modern classic"! Yes, I certainly believe it is. Future classic, someone else said, - I've always referred to mine as a 'potential classic'. Like "modern classic" better! Prices are on the up, no doubt. I also love old MG's Triumph TR's, etc., but rust and...

Re: Mazda MX5 OR BMW Z3? Your views guys...

I have a 2.0 litre Z3 automatic which I put away for the winter, and my wife has been nagging me to buy an MX5 with folding hard-top so I can do away with my two cars and just have the one, which can then stay out all year. So I test drove a new MX5. It was only the 1.8 unfortunately, they didn't ha...

Happy New Year from me too! Hope someone organises a Z3 meeting close to Surrey/Sussex/Hants. for 2015 - nothing muted yet. Looking forward to a run down to Goodwood in February for the GRRC Members meeting, the weather then could be anything so not loosening the soft-top just yet!

I hope SOMETHING's arranged for a Z3 meet-up in the south next year! I enjoy Goodwood Breakfast Club meetings and the Revival of course, but Z3's are very thin on the ground. Can't quite imagine what it would be like to be in a bevvy of them! Will be checking this site out regularly in the hope!

Re: Anyone know the phone number for the Samaritans?

Feel for you! In neither case was it my Z3, but several years ago driving a brand new car I drove across Rannoch Moor only to find the road had been re-gravelled it's entire length. I drove slowly and carefully and all went well until a 4x4 approaching in the opposite direction at a fast rate of kno...

Re: New Tax Disc

I think I might be a lone voice in the wilderness, - but I took my old VEL out at 7am 1st October and wonderful - my windscreen is now clear of hazardous vision blocking tripe and I can clearly SEE all that my windscreen allows! Car looks sleeker, drives smoother, sounds quieter, goes faster!

Re: Leather Interior

That BMW Archive site's really worth taking a look at! I think it's answered my query, - basically although the sales brochure and prices brochures refer only to Classic and Oregon leather, there are apparently other options, including Chameleon leather and Nappa leather. I can only assume you'd hav...

Re: Leather Interior

Thanks for the info. I did a check on the BMW Archive site and it stated the interior is Black Chameleon leather. That only part answers the question because according to all the literature I have ie. prices/options/spec., Z3 2000/2001, there's the choice of only "Classic" or "Oregon&...

Leather Interior

First question - the brochure which accompanies my 2001 Z3 2.2i Roadster refers to a choice of "Classic" or "Oregon" leather, - mine's clearly Oregon. Yet all the dealers blurb on original invoices etc refer to the interior as black "Chameleon leather". Is that just ano...

Re: Battery advice

I had the same problem with my battery after taking the car out of winter storage this spring. So had to cough up and get myself a new battery, but it wasn't as expensive as I thought it might be. I looked around on the internet, and settled on a battery from ATS Euromaster as they're just down the ...
