looking to get swmbo a zed
been looking for a zed 3 for her for some time to meet her speck finally found one 74k miles factory fitted hard top the only mot advisories are front stearing gater worn and the off side rear tyre has uneven ware , first one easy fix but any one know what's likely to cause the second one?

one thing I need to get arround to for the new a light onto the left heater control tried it by going through the radio hole but could not find it so I thought ok follow the other wires bingo got it so I though gave a tug now I don't have either the light or the power to my clock, now just to wait t...

I think they try to price you out I could not belive the labour charge £504 for fitting 2 sills peterz3 Ps I think I might have upset them as last year I had the £25 winter check on the report there was some work required being front discs and pads both front bottomwish bones when he gave me the lis...

cheers for the offer I was only doing a bit of research as it's only the front 10mm that's rusty on both sides ,I've treated ithe rusty bits with cure rust to hold it for the mament so hope fully in a few months time I should be able to do it my self with a bit of help

the only time I've use mine is when I go to france bit of a flaf over here as the weather can change quickly as we have found out when on holiday

prices have gone up a bit labour at £550 parts £276 plus paint all told £1200 Inc vat that's from raybrooks shewsbury

sorry for the delay in replying, I just used the adapter that was use for the kenwood unit that was fitted, the only speekers thst seem to work are the front ones which are loud enough for me ,I never touched the wiring in the boot just unplugged the cd unit

been looking at my z3 and the front of both sills a some what rustyon the front edge, any one got an idea how mutch new outer sill are complete with fitting as I'm some what out of action due being under going chemo at the moment

thanks to you all, had my first run out in my z3 today to go shopping up in nantwich sainsburys swmbo drove up there and I drove back not driven since mid November great to get behind the wheel again

[ haven't fitted them yet but from memory when I got the top they were mounted under the front hard top mounts, the mate who was helping me fit the hard top took the hard top fittings off before I could stop him as he thought you had to do that to get the hard top fitting in line that's after he put...

I took out the cd player etc from the boot and fitted a dab radio /cd into the hole that was left when I got my z3 I think it was a kenwood unit but no front facia the dab arial sticks to the screen just above where the old tax disc was

I've just seen my head lights don't match, on dip 1 has a blueish tint the other has a yellowish tint , a few weeks ago 1 dip bulb blow so I had a look in my spares box found another bulb to replace it now all I've got to do is match the brighter one now

I look at the signs if it says 50-60-70or20-30-40 thats what I try to do I've been on a dual carriageway where the speeds whent from 30 to 60 then back to 40 every 1/2mile for about 3 miles with cameras on each sign ,cash machines

piced up the spacers from my bmw shop shrewsbury, Distanzplatt 5421 8 407 541they are a triangle shape with 3 holes that match the 3 screws on the front mount

with my home made rear hard top mounts use to rattle a bit on rough roads fixed it by putting some silicone filler in the bottom of the hole that the rear pins go into it stop the pins from moving up and down

did you get the rear mounts with the top or are they all ready fitted to your zed, I didn't want to spend the same ammount as the top so I made my own rear mounts , having the top on make my zed look totally different and a bit warmer

getting them from my local bmw part shop (shrewsbury) he had to look on the computer to find them zoomed in there they were he had to order them should be here mid week they are only 1mm thick, when they arrive I will post the part number, the only reason I'm fitting them is because the top is very ...

getting chilly now so hard top fitted , only thing is the "mate" who helped me fit it for the first time last year put the shims that go under the front mounts put them in his pocket on his old jacket, when he found them later didn't know what they were so binned them, great just cost me £...

the other day dropped the top as the sun was out but when I tried to get it to go up again the cup poped off the ball, the clip is still in the correct place( had a problem last year when the ball cought the edge of the hard top mount and pulled it apart , I fixed it ok) now even when I do a manual ...

I had new front tyres fitted a couple of months ago but only get the abs light to come(red light with a triangle in it) on when I pull away on muddy or wet roads

I thought mine were too low as well untill I found the switch marked 1 as 2 just under the right side of the steering wheel moved it bingo up they came not as bright as some modern cars but still ok for me

don't know about Scotland but I had mine done in Stoke softtops £650 he did a very good job my zed looks like new with her new top, took about 3 hrs all told he will come out but I don't know how far

I think most more modern cars have head lights that dazzle most other car drivers seems a war going on as to who has the most dazzling head lights my my zeds light are fine, my pet hate is the Juke

I replace the front lower arms and track rods off ebay meyle £165 took me about 2 hrs to replace the parts don't know about the rear spring though

good tip Howard fitted a new pump but the mesh screen under the pump had a load of green gunk over it, sorted

the screen wash stopped working the other day so I had a look under the bonnet pump was making it nomal noise so I thought I would see if the pipe was blocked, from the washer tank (near side by the wind screen)the pipe goes across the back to the off side through a pannel by the fuse box down under...

I also have a 2.2 sport z3 but 2001 (Y reg) would my car also have the same torso dif ? for the last 3 mot's they put her on a roller to check the brakes

tried mine out yesterday it's the type that fits over the roll bars , must be one thing that I've done that's perfect for swmbo she doesn't need to wear a hat now

one thing I've found out is when I had the new soft top fitted today there is a U shaped gutter just under where the roof is fixed so if the seal leaks the water is taken to just over the shock top mount the through the wheel archs, I don't know if this is fitted to all z3's or just the later models...
