Z3 3.0 Sport FOR SALE £4,750 ONO
Hi everyone, Due to a lack of use I am selling my 2001 Z3 3.0 Sport in Hellrot II. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc376/Hoppo1979/b7bbd44fceafe77b76ddef105e59dd62_zpsw7squtaw.jpg http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc376/Hoppo1979/c424f9b518859462157f9c2ab8b6d25d_zpsz5epi6sm.jpg http://i1208.ph...

Re: Tyre pressures
Not sure I quite agree with the previous comment. I have a 3.0 with DSC. Had my wheels refurbished, put them back on and started having trouble with the DSC. It started nipping the front passenger brake on then throwing warning lights on. I started worrying about sensors etc but went back to basics,...

Re: 3.0 oil consumption
Hi all, I've a 3.0 Z3. It's an incredibly low use car, I bought it 7 months ago and I've done 900 miles in it, 250 of which were the journey home when I picked it up. I have checked the oil twice, it's not used a drop. Total mileage is 80,000. I think some oil consumption on modern engines is expect...

Same here Bentley and not far from you! Spot of lunch at The Peacock at Owler Bar, then past Froggatt into Calver. Over into Hassop, then Chatsworth, back up past The Devonshire across Beeley and back into Chesterfield. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc376/Hoppo1979/e8072d4a95d09f289f9302b06f73...

Re: DSC/ABS fault help please!
Fronts should have been 2.1 bar, rears 2.4 according to the door shut sticker. Fronts were 2.7 and 2.9, rears 2.8 and 3.0! I did about a hundred miles in it yesterday in total, pushed it round some twisty bits, it didn't fault once. I'll keep holding my breath but it looks to have sorted it. To be f...

Re: DSC/ABS fault help please!
I'm hoping it's just cost me 60p to fix. I had my split rim bs wheels refurbished and the tyre pressures were miles out. Put them to factory settings and just gone for a top down sunny drive around Chesterfield and it's not missed a beat. Fingers crossed but I think I've solved it.

Re: DSC/ABS fault help please!
No trouble code stored. My mate who's a technician at bmw thinks it might be a worn abs reluctor ring on the driveshaft. I'll need to have a look. I'll let you know how I get on.

DSC/ABS fault help please!
Ok noticed my DSC kicking in too early a while back round bends, intermittent, DSC light flashing but even when straight still holding power back. Last couple of days have manifested in a bigger problem. Just driving along and all of a sudden the brakes 'nip' and grab on the front, like the abs kick...

I've fitted a Pipercross unit to my 3.0 Z3. Slotted into the standard housing no issues. My car does very few miles, 2,000 miles a year very max. Car feels great, very responsive. I will keep an eye on things though.

Re: Knocking behind drivers seat.
Apparently they absorb scuttle shake vibrations. When I bought them it said vibration damper on the box. Some guys have taken them off altogether but I wasn't happy removing that much weight off the back end. And in my opinion they aren't for weight distribution or they wouldn't be mounted the way t...

They weight 9kilos each and are cast iron. If you look at the top the rubber had perished and come loose. The noi...

Well just to update the thread, the garage have tried to stop the leak to no avail, so a new pipe is being fitted. Very strange, lets hope the pipe fixes it!

Re: Annoying rattle from the rear
Thanks for that info Hoppo. Make sense that they act as counters when you feel how they move. Ingenious way to disguise vibrations rather than get rid of it... I was hoping this might be the source my annoying rattle. I got one side of the bumper partially off (the t50 bolt by the exhaust side is c...

Re: Selling my baby 3.0 Zed
This looks to be a bargain! I have recently bought a 3.0i sport with 80k for £4250. Granted its a few plates newer but a facelift 3.0i for sub £3k is a bargain! Had I been looking I would have bought this in a heartbeat!

PAS high pressure hose
Morning all, my high pressure PAS hose is leaking at the pump. I have replaced the rubber O ring but can't stop it dripping! Has anyone else had a similar issue and if so can you offer any advice?

Re: Annoying rattle from the rear
Since southern boy alerted me to the presence of these weights I did a lot of research, they are apparently there to try and counter "scuttle shake" that convertibles can suffer from. The Z3 Coupes don't have these weights, and if they were simply there for weight distribution they wouldn'...

Re: Annoying rattle from the rear
Ok guys thought an update would help. I removed the rear bumper, and the passenger side bumper weight had collapsed! It was rattling around in the bumper carrier and at over a stone (8.2kg) in weight there's no wonder I thought the rear end was collapsing! http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc376/H...

Re: Annoying rattle from the rear
They're on the corners inside the bumper proper...you can reach in there if you get under the car a bit... That has to be the noise! It's like somebody tapping a hammer in the boot. I was at the point of thinking something had been dropped in a panel and was rattling around. I've googled it ...

Re: Annoying rattle from the rear
Guys thanks for the responses. Weights in rear bumper? That sounds a possibility! I checked the bolts that hold the bumper carrier in place were tight when I cleared the boot out, but I was unaware there are weights in the bumper. Could someone give me a bit more insight into where to find the weigh...

Re: Annoying rattle from the rear
Hi everyone, I recently bought a Z3 3.0 Sport, and it has a rattle from the back end. It sounds like you haven't shut a door properly and happens over shuddery services. So far I have; Replaced rear shocks and top mounts Checked exhaust Stripped boot completely (tools etc) Removed spare wheel Driven...
