Re: Front end steering/suspension overhaul - recommendations

I completed the same overhaul as you are contemplating but also changed the struts and top mounts. I used a mixture of Febi (Bilstein) and Meyle parts and both were of top quality. For the struts I used Sachs and by careful ebay purchasing from different suppliers I managed to get everything for und...

Re: Windscreen woes

I work for Pilkington and we make glass for the OE market and the aftermarket. We have manufacturing facilities all the world so a 'Pilkington' glass sold in Europe could come from Europe, North America, South America etc. We can only include the Car Manufactures logo when we supply it as OE or to t...

Re: 1.9 m43 belt tensioners

Thank you for this information as this is the last job to do from a very long list of jobs that I have done. I also have found some of the information available a bit contradictory so this information is great. Saturday morning I will be able to wield my spanners with confidence :) .

Re: Cinders

You can use Halfords plastic bumper paint or indeed any other type of bumper paint as they do not require a primer. Also it is the same handle as an E36 saloon, coupe, touring etc so that could be another option. :)

Re: Can You Program a Second Hand Key?

Had the same issue my self, this guy is really good https://www.carkeyhelp.co.uk/, he will cut you a key from a digital photo and you can then fit your internals in it. Cost about £12. I have a second key from him which has the internals from a key I bought of ebay. It will unlock the car via remote...

I have also replaced front and rear discs/pads with Mintex at about £90 delivered for both sets. The quality is excellent they bedded in quickly and give good stopping rate for a standard set up :)

Re: Door Mirrors

I have the tube, spring that have some corrosion but would clean up, I think I may still have the base as well. That's only the base not the top half.
