Seatbelt retraction.

Hoping one of the moderators can post this to the knowledgebase as I seem unable to post there.... Had an issue with slow retracting drivers seatbelt, and was becoming concerned it could be failing. Before going any further, I purchased a box of spectacle cleaners from Tesco (£1 for 50 lens wipes!) ...

ASC and Brake Fluid Light.

I appear to be getting the DSC light and the amber brake fluid warning light both coming on and staying on at the same time. I can then go to the car the next day and they have both gone out.

Any tips or suggestions?

thanks

How to replace Bonnet release on RHD Z3

Further to an earlier post I am going to replace the whole bonnet release mechanism on my Z3. Are there any 'how to' guides out there? I can see plenty for Z3 LHD models which have the release handle on the other side, or for an E36 3 Series, however nothing for a RHD Z3. Any help would be great. Ch...

2002 Z3 Bonnet release.

Think I might be Scotlands luckiest man....... Bonnet catch has been pretty lousy since I got the car 2 years ago, however yesterday it failed and then subsequently snapped off at the interior handle. On looking at the forum, a locked down bonnet is a nightmare to open so I am vary grateful that I h...

Re: ABS fault?

I appear to have a similar issue. This has only just started today and both will light up on one journey, but will be gone on the next...so very intermittent. any suggestions?

M54 Engine Oil

Having worked in the engine oil industry man and boy, I set myself a mission at the beginning of the year to find an answer to the burning oil issue of the M54 engine. I have been working with my lubricant scientist collegues over the past 6 months with my much loved 2002 Sport 2.2 as a test bed. Th...

Steering noise

After being stood for a few months, my 2002 2.2 appears to have developed a faint whining noise from the steering when turning left at slow speeds only. I can feel a slight resonance through the steering wheel. Power steering reservoir is at the correct level. Any suggestions?

Bonnet release lever.

Has anyone got any advice for ensuring the bonet release lever is as it should be? Ever since I got my Z3, it has required a pretty hefty 'yank' to get the bonnet to pop up, and in my opinion does not seem all that robust. Is this normal, or is there something I could do to improve things?

Z3 Doors

I am having issues with my drivers door in that sometimes it will not open. Eventually I am able to open it by pushing it inwards whilst lifting the handle at the same time. Anyone had similar issues and know of a cure?

Re: M54 2.2 Exhaust

Had it in to my local independant garage today. Once up in the air, you can clearly see it is the exhaust bracket near the front of the exhaust that has corroded and sheared away. Garage is going to attach a new clamp and join the two ends together which will hopefully resolve the issue.

M54 2.2 Exhaust

Just done a long drive today (200 miles and some very heavy rain) in my 'new' Z3. Exhaust has been fine with no signs of issues until right at the end of my journey, it started making an almighty racket, and appears to be from the engine end. Seems strange that it could just go suddenly. Any suggest...

Re: Future Classic?

Smart move lighting on the van front. What is a Transit worth after 5 years...? Very little! The Landy as you rightly say, will not alter in value one bit if maintained correctly. The z3 I see in a similar light. Buy a good one, look after it and you will have a superb little roadster that is old en...

Re: Future Classic?

I agree in that M models aside, regular Z3s are unlikely to rocket up in price. In saying that, if one is bought at the right money and unmolested, it is unlikely to depreciate much further now which makes for some cheap motoring.

Harry Fairbairn is Arnold Clark. Apparently BMW will not allow the Arnold Shark name to be linked to their franchise. Cannot for the life of me think why........?

Future Classic?

First of all, many thanks for accepting me to this excellent forum. I am new to the Z3 fraternity having just purchased this week a 2.2 Sport in Estoril Blue (2002 MY). Photos and details to follow......! Having read up and researched the Z3, few cars seem to match it in polarising opinion on wheath...
