Re: Boot Leak finding

Hop in the boot with a torch and get a mate to run a hose over it. Or put the missus in the boot and run a hose over it.

Mine's also standard.
I only sold the Spitfire and bought the Z3 as I had trouble getting in and out with a buggered knee. :x

Re: Dead Battery.

Took my battery to my friendly mechanic. Came up fully charged overnite. Seems that my charger is stuffed .Tried it on other batteries and no flashing red light. Got another coming. I've got 2 others on the rest of my fleet which have given no trouble. I've always been led to understand that letting...

Dead Battery.

I don't use my Z3 every day so keep a little trickle charger hooked up. Done this for many years with no adverse results with other cars. However this morning, after two weeks unused the battery was dead flat. No warning lights, nothing. Little red light on charger also not on. So seems like I have ...

Strange, This link worked for my Z3 but when I put a vin for a 328ci I was looking at It gave me a different car. I put in the last 7 numbers but It gave me a different prefix which didn't match. Any thoughts please ?

So ,sounds like the problem is me  Finally had some fine weather and our mechanic had time to go for a run. Apart from repairing diesel trucks and buses he's a bit of a guru with BMW's. He tells me I'm too gentle with it :P and to use the accelerator pedal more . Car started first time today ...

Being a curious b.....d , why do you run on LPG ? My experience running vehicles designed to run on petrol on LPG has not been great. I'm talking of mostly commercial ones. Apart from a bit more torque and possibly a bit cheaper running cost {over here in NZ anyway} what do you achieve ?

Only my 2nd month owning 2.8 Z3. It seems underpowered to me or am I not driving the auto correctly ? Slowing down then accelerating it seems to drop revs to 1000. Can someone please an ignorant Kiwi ? Got what appears to be a key operated switch behind and in between the seats. Can't see anything in my book and don't want to play with it in case I bugger something. My mechanic's not used to Z3's either.

Just an oil filter, an air filter and 6.5 litres of Penrite HPR 5 , 5w/ 30 oil. Also a good inspection by my mechanic. Like to do this on any car I buy, don't know what previous owner did or did not do to her.
