Re: Should both door buttons work?

Hi, Both buttons should work from outside. I had this issue with my new Z1 last year and it was a quick fix done by a Z1 specialist near Munich. There is need of some adjustment behind the lock. He removed the rectangular panel which is visible when you fold/unfold the top and found the issue. Good ...

I found the most tricky part is to be able to remove front bolts
The socket wrench is stuck by the lower part of the seat...

Could you explain more the work which has been done ? cleaning and protecting only or new tint on the top ?

Hello Ian, This belt is not only the fan belt BUT the waterpump belt, that's explaining why the engine overheated ! In order to change it, it is not that complicated. Grab them while you can because as I wrote in a different post, it seems Toyo is manyfacturing batches once in a while. I had to wait several months in 2021 until they were available again.

I guess the best is to find first a dealer with more awareness on BMW Classic cars and has willingess to investigate in its system to place order on those specific parts. Sorry for late answer as you probably already solve this point... you can definitely to replace the inner fuel pump at a fraction of the cost of the whole unit sold by dealer. Remove Fuel pump, check Bosch reference and order the same one. It is then a max 30 min job to swap them.
