Lacquer peeling

I have a couple of patches where the lacquer has peeled off, up to a couple of inches wide, particular on the front splitter. Has anyone had experience of this?

I agree with Grubbins - the outside looks soaked when it rains, but the inside is dry. When the top dries out it looks fine so I haven't been tempted to buy yet another stealer-recommended maintenance product. The only minor problem I had was from a "bird-strike" which I removed successful...

So long as it's an orginal German roof, there are three layers to the material, with a plastic layer in the middle. The only time they might leak should be if the stitching goes above the bars (apart from around the rubber seals).

Soft top renovation

I asked my son about this, as he fits soft tops professionally for a major company in London. His advice was: As the Z3 top is mohair it should only ever be brushed with a soft(ish) brush. Use chemical products at your peril!

Has anyone tried the simulator training, where the instructor lifts the car with additional wheels? There's one going on locally (Cornwall) for £99 for the day (with instruction)

Mixing oil types

After I bought my ///M I topped it up with a synthetic oil on the assumption that that's what was in it already. Can anyone tell me if there could be any adverse effects from mixing the types?

The Z "Collective"

Hi, all. What's the collective noun for a number of newbies? A couple of weeks ago I was at our local dealers buying a car for my wife (her last car had caught tin-worm), when this rather tasty little red number winked at me. "Go on, Dad, you've GOT to have a drive" said my son, and the re...
