Maybe when you are going up/downhill... the unit in the tank thinks it has less/more fuel.

or, the range is calculated based on how you are driving.

I.e. try reset the computer and lift off... ... I get 99 mpg! :lol:

I'd therefore be tempted to look for a good Alpina Roadster S in those colours. It's a common colour combo for the car and it's a pretty cracking car itself ('cept the brakes :wink: ).

doclip's view is a good summary I believe. On a hot dry day, they are pretty well matched, the M slightly quicker. On a wet day on a twisty road, there is NOOOOOO way that the the M would lose a Z4 3.0 (particularly an si). Probably no way it would catch it in the first place. The M is probably more...

Maybe worth mentioning that it's really easy to retro-fit cruise control to the earlier 2003-2004 cars (if you want it, and your 'target' car does not have it :wink: ).

- Kit from BMW is about £100 and it takes about 10 minutes to fit it.

- later cars require a bit of re-wiring I believe.

Hi,

can anyone tell me what was the additional insurance cost to them when they added an Aero kit to a Z4 please?

- i've been quoted £200 more per year plus an additional £200 excess - IF I FIT JUST THE SIDE CILLS!!!

- surely this must be an operator error. :/

Hardtops are pointless. - I would not include this in a buying decision. I drove all year with a hood. No issues. Hi,

There was no recall I believe. BMW just fixed them under warranty as the problems (rear springs snapping near the top) arose.

- i.e. pi**ed off owners turning up at dealerships wondering why a £40k car has such issues :wink:

I'd intended to buy the retrofit kit for the cowl and the control stick. I just wondered whether the wiring is in place in later cars. It sounds like not?

Hi

I had 100k on my 1st (3.0) (53 plate)

I've got 84k on my 2nd (and it's an 06 plate) - 3.0si Sport.

I'd consider 200k to be no big issue with these engines as long as the oil is monitored and changed regularly.

I parked next to a Topaz Blue 6 cyl Z3 by the cinema at the Merry Hill Centre in Dudley yesterday.

Reg was 'MOOKA' or similar. It was for sale, but had the worst case of 'door dings' i'd ever seen. :cry:

- rather preferred the 911 Turbo behind hit with the 'DREAM' :roll: no. plate!

I had an identical experience on my old 3.0. - Insisted on changing BOTH sides under warranty.

- mention 'negligence' - i.e. if you have an accident now and the second spring is a contributor factor, they had the opportunity to change it but didn't.

Hi, I've owned a 2003 3.0l and a facelifted 2006 3.0si. They are pretty different in my humble opinion. :dunce: The later car (as well as being put together better) is much more brutal in a straight line than the older car and if you drive 'purposefully' between 4000-6000 revs it's pretty underrated...

If you really want to know if the speakers ae their (and perhaps not working?) move the seat forward, get a 'non marking prising tool' (e.g. a dessert spoon with a flat/wide handle) - use the handle end to prise the grill off)

- it just clips in and takes 10 secs.

Yes, it's 'follow me home'. They go off after (as said) 30 - 45 seconds. If you set it, leave the car then lock it remotely (say from your front door) this turns them off too(... well mine seems to!)

Just my 'tuppeneth'... I've had 2 Z3s (2.8 and 3.0) and 2 Z4s (3.0 and 3.0si Sport) and done a combined mileage of 320,000 miles in them. No, afraid not. There's no indicator light to tell you it's active.

(I find that the traffic in front of me, getting rapidly too close for comfort is the best indicator). :wink:
