I sold my 98 low mileage 28 this spring with top spec and it only achieved £4,500, I tried the put it away and wait till spring thing but it just went down in value and not up as one would hope for.

I’m now running a Qashqai N-Tec 1.5 DCI but still miss the Zed on the nice days.

Thanks Justin, I gathered that was the alarm box but I kind of hoped the button would be on the outside  I did read one post under Alarm problems but it didn’t show the button or go into detail so I will follow the link and try again.

I’ve been having the same problem and I’m told you only have 10 seconds to change the battery and after that time it goes out of synchronisation with the alarm and you have to have it reprogrammed at BMW at a cost of £80 :(

Come and test drive my 98 2.8 on a private reg and if you like it you can drive it away with you for £4000 same colour inside and out as the one you posted but mine has all the extras BMW and aftermarket plus its 56K with FSH, I’ve only done 400 mile in the last two years .

With a hard top I think you got a good deal, I have a 98 2.8 F/BMW/SH with 56k on the clock and I would hope to get the same money for it without a hard top.
PS I paid £11000 for it 3 year ago.

Unfortunately that’s the market price at the moment and it will only get worse with the fuel price and the road tax going up like it is, I paid £11500 for my 98 2.8 and I think its worth £5000 to £5500 now if I’m lucky
The car is mint with FSH and low mileage but I've given up on trying selling it.

I’m not suggesting this will work but if it was me I would try it before going to the Steelers.
Disconnect the battery for a few hours, when you reconnect it the ECU will reset itself and this might just sort it out.

PS you will need the radio code when you do this.

The car drives spot on and looks great but I just don’t use it now so I would like to sell her to someone that will appreciate all the extras and time I’ve put into her.
I know there are cheaper ones out their but trust me this one is worth paying the extra dollar for.

That’s why I’ve quoted the sizes to give a comparison.

I’ve just taken a set of genuine AC type two off my Zed, they were 8 ½ J x 18 ET 43 and they had 7m spacers fitted to clear the leg.
The tyres sizes are 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear.
They looked stunning and didn’t stick out but I like the ride with the standard wheels and tyres on better.
