Gazza - sad news
It's many months since I visited this site and it's with a heavy heart that I have to let you know that Gary Meekings aka Gazza sadly passed away last night after succumbing to the Covid 19 virus. I'd known him for many years and not only was he a car nut par excellence he was also a super guy to sp...

It's gone. I accepted less than 16k for it but just wanted to sort things out quickly and easily. I knew it was worth a lot more but couldn't be bothered with the hassle of selling privately. Said Goodbye to the M
We waved goodbye to our M Roadster this morning. Very sad and someone is eventually going to get a super car. But we brought home a stunning looking Alpina B3S Biturbo cabrio. Took it out briefly and it is everything I hoped it would be. I'll be going through my bits and pieces soon and will have lo...

Re: An S54 M Roadster for sale?
A sad day in many ways as we had the car for 13 years but it just seemed the right time to move on. I had been tentatively looking for a rather more conservative car but still a convertible. So I've traded it for an Alpina B3S BT cabrio. 395bhp and capable of 186mph. I'd say that's conservative :) h...

I'm toying with the idea of selling my car and buying something different. Suggest you go to the Alpina forum
http://thealpinaregister.com/forums/index.php
Not only will you get the answers but will probably find out about the car you want to buy.
We have a D3 BT as well as the M Roadster and that forum is very similar to this one except for Alpinas.

Re: Z3 Hood replacement - are the BMW dealers having a laugh
I had my red hood replaced a couple of years ago. It was supplied by BMW by the original German manufacturer and took about 16 weeks to be delivered having to be specially made. I then had it fitted by the BMW fitter who was independent of the dealer and the cost of that was around £250. The hood wa...

There is quality and there is QUALITY. I had the front bumper resprayed on our Alpina just a few weeks ago by a BMW approved body shop that resprayed my M some years ago. They reckon around £400 per panel so that's about 10 panels - bonnet, boot,2 doors, 2 wings, 2 rears, 2 bumpers - so around £4000...

The bolts issue wasn't vanos. It was to do with the cylinders and if one went it would more than likely blow a hole in the engine. It was about £7500 to replace/repair from memory. So I cant complain. Our cars are very old now and a lot have been abused. So can't blame the manufacturer all the time.
