There was a waiting list for them, it was getting on for 1 year. A lot of people put a order in for one then sold it on as they were selling for up to £1000 over the list price, as the demand was so great

On the pre-facelift cars the siren could be set to silent, leaving just the indicators as a warning when arming, siren still went off if car was tampered with.They came with a "key" to turn them off too. Don't know if this can be done on facelift car

I don't know anything about Tarrago leather dye, but the Liquid Leather is more than a dye, it creates a new surface which is hard wearing and brings it back to the orginal look. My steering wheel wasn't as bad as yours, it just had small nicks in it caused by rings and it covered those with no prob...

I always thought the beige leather on the steering wheel was very soft and easily marked. I used Liquid Leather on mine with very good results.

A common fix is to replace with one from a X5 as they are slightly longer, or stick a pad above the switch on the bonnet, I did the latter

That sounds like the 3G.EWS alarm which I put in my other post, the small red button is for turning off the interior sensors when the hood is down. I try not to update till I really have to, my iPhone 6 still has the IOS 8 that it came with, and I don't have any problems with it. My iPod Touch 5 is running IOS 7 and again I'm not updating it, same with my iPad. I do check the Apple forums to see if the bugs they cause get fixed.

Do you chaps leave the battery connected to the Z3 when charging over winter or for extended periods of time... or do you disconnect and remove it to charge? If left connected where do you attach the charger...directly to the battery or the terminals under the bonnet I connect direct to the battery...

Did an economy run today and by not going over 60mph I achieved (according to the computer) 44mpg rising to 46.3mpg when limiting to 50mph on the return journey. My 330 draws 1A if the doors are NOT locked. With the doors locked, the current drops to 0.03A. That's interesting to know, I've never ever locked my car while its in the garage. I did have a battery problem some years ago (a new one "died" after 1 year) so I've used a trickle charger eve...

Could the door locks and ignition have been changed during the cars life with locks from a later model, you would then have a later key but still have the original alarm so have to use the "housebrick" alarm fob, but the later key won't "see" the original alarm module

The key doesn't look like it is the correct one for a pre-face lift car (unless they were different in Italy) that's why the buttons won't unlock it. And it can't be programmed by the method posted earlier, that's for the face lift cars

I've been using it for a couple of years, and wouldn't use anything else now. So easy to use as has been said, 30 mins. to do the whole car. Doesn't leave any white on any black trim (door handles, washer jets). But does over spray on the last panel you've just done, but easy to wipe off.
