Hi, I've had my 1999 M Roadster from new (15K miles now) and fitted an MK Motorsport strut brace as soon as I bought the car. It's the best one I've seen in light weight aluminium and shaped exactly around the bumps in the top of the strut towers on the car. Shipping from Germany was reasonable alth...

Hmmm
I know the USA S52 Engine was based on the 2.8 straight six but haven't heard of anyone swapping parts between them. Not to say it wouldn't work but the whole head is likely to be different as the capacities are not the same. The camshafts appear to be 11311405051 inlet and 11311405488 outlet but ex...

If you want to keep your airbag... and you do... the only option that I'm aware of is RAID. They're big in the Porsche world.

Welcome. Here's the information you need. Early Z3's that were made before the option of Roll Hoops have a wider central top storage bin and only have the outer two mounting holes. If you have this model then you have a choice of the 'style bars' you found (which will likely give little or no roll o...

I've got what must be one of the nicest S50's left - one owner (me) 14K miles, hardtop, never been in the rain... showroom condition... Was in the local dealer at the weekend looking at Mini Clubmans with my family and the salesman said they had a '99 MR with 30K in the summer and it sold in days. H...

Interesting reading low mileage comments again. I have a '99 M Roadster that I have had since new that now has 14 000 miles on it. A few thoughts as a low mileage Mer. 1) None of this mileage was short journies. Think about it. A low mileage micra from an old woman will be trips into town, the same ...

What a good idea! I've had a think about where to put the tank too: 1) Free some space by ditching the silly big M engine and slotting in a 3 pot. Perhaps the local breaker would have a Charade GTti 'round the back. 2) Mount them above the roll hoops. This would also provide a good mounting point fo...

Didn't know the Z was prone to getting water in the boot but the usual BMW answer is (assuming no accident damage) replace the rubber seal around the lights and boot opening. They were cheap for my old E30 so guess the Z will be reasonable too - go to a main dealer though. New service books have to ...

Check other posts here but it is most likely to be: a) rear top mounts - get some new ones from BMP Design not OEM and fit yourself in an hour b) handbrake cable - easy to sort c) weight in the rear bumper - vibration damper in the rear bumper has been known to knock. Bubble wrap has been suggested....

Changed for Rossos and they are a great tyre. Quieter and more comfortable than the Mich's that came off and still grip stronger in the dry. Don't drive in the wet so can't help you there. I have been talking to Opie oils about getting some oil for my M Roadster and it has thrown up something a bit odd. As far as problems you will need to check out the front of the engine for the VANOS noises (plenty of posts here with further info) and check the rear suspension top mounts. BMP Design or Bavauto will be able to supply ...

Anyone used Adrian Flux for Insurance?
I spent the usual couple of hours yesterday looking into the price of insurance for my M Roadster since as always the premium had gone up for no benefit - and I noticed the windscreen and claim excess had gone up too; thanks Tesco but no.
