Having had a Z1 here in the US since 2003, I can tell you there are no Z1 specfic parts warehoused in the US! We have competitive pricing on the E30 parts that are common to both however....

Fuel leak

I have had that problem as well. There is a gasket where the filler tube joins the gas tank. This can dry out and crack giving you an intermittant leak when the fuel tank is topped off or the car is parked in an incline...worrisome is that the fuel leaks close to the exhaust...The part is standard 3...

Wheel well liners

I had the terrible experiencing of discovering that my front wheel well liners are all cracked. To make matters worse, they virtually disentegrated when I attempted to remove one in hopes of making a repair. The rubber is so brittle that just handling them results in there falling apart. I haven't c...

Seat Upholstery Refurbishment

I know the subject of interior/seat leather cleaning and restoration has been covered in numerous posts...but is there a summary or unified presentation on the matter? Now that winter is seriously here in Colorado, I would like to tackle the issue of cleaning and maintaining my seats and center cons...

Z1 US importation

I had a positive experience with Wallace Labs....their Houston location is a nice day drive to Colorado Springs as well! They handled clearing the car from Customs in Houston which was the Port of Entry--so it was essentially a turn key affair for me. It sounds like some have had less than ideal exp...

Z1 US importation

I used Wallace so I'm not sure why they are less than knowledgeable about the process...I have't kept up with the regulations so make sure you have the authorization to import papers in hand before proceding any further. Contact the folks that Aurlelius has used in Miami too see what their recent ex...

Z1's on BMWVCCCA Rally through Caliornia

The BMW Vintage and Classic Car Club of America is in the midst of our 2 week Rally around northern California. We have 7 Z1's participating (considered "Classic" ) . I opted for a 1937 BMW 327/8 this time but no one can beat the Z1 for fun in the California sun! I think 5 of the Z1's hail...

Tire suggestions?

I have a 1991 Z1 here in Colorado USA. Its time to replace the Toyo 225 45 R16 tires that are on it. I have checked on line with the two biggest online source for enthusisast tires-- Tire Rack and Discount..It seems that the only tire available in that size is a Goodrich TA tire. There is a Continen...

US Importation of the Z1

I imported my Z1 in the fall of 2003 under the NHSTA guidlines. You will need to determine with the NHSTA if the Z1 is still eligible...Roughly your costs above the purchase price will be shipping ($1800), customs ($1000), EPA testing ($11000), and possible storage fees during the customs/federal in...

Z1 Front Brake Pads

I need to replace my front brake pads on my 91 Z1 here in the US. Does anyone have the parts number or can I assume the pads are the same stock pads of a 325i from the era?
Thanks,
