Facelift Z4 CDV
Many of you will know the improvement to the feel (and performance) of the clutch by removing or drilling out the standard fit clutch delay valve. It made a vast improvement to my 03 Z4. I now have a new "facelift" model and I wonder if BMW no longer fit the CDV as it feels exactly the sam...

I have a new 3.0i Z4 having replaced my 3 year old launch day car. The gearbox does give an unnerving rattle sometimes on switching off the engine. Also the engine is generally rattly at around 2,000 revs. Sytner Leicester have listened to both noises and suggest that they are in common with the car...

Radio replacement
Our 1 Series requires the radio to be replaced (speaker feed fault). Apparently it takes 1 hour to replace but 3 hours to re -programme. Any of you IT people know why it takes so long? They did say the 7 Series takes 6 hours!! Some relevence to the board as the radio seems the same as the Z4

New 258bhp 3.0i engine
In looking at the spec of the new 3 series I compared the engine stats with the existing engine as currently in the Z4 (presumably to be replaced at the "facelift"). The new engine delivers 258 bhp @ 6600 revs as opposed to 231 bhp @ 5900 revs and the same torque figure of 300 Nm but @ 250...

Face lift?
I haven't been visiting this board recently so have I missed something re. the above. I saw "Gimlet" recently and he mentioned a "facelift" in early 2007. Any answers? I tried a search but failed to find posts.
Thanks John

Gary. The people running the course were road safety officers employed by the local authority and were very politically correct and non- judgemental. They only take the minor offenders (37mph) with the view that we have the temperament to be able to modify our driving habits. I must say that throug...

We have a 120d and I find the handling and general dynamics well up to the Z4. It certainly has a more positive feel to the steering and tracks beautifully on a motorway. It may be the enormous torque of the diesel but I am regularly surprised at how quickly 80mph comes up on the speedo. Remember th...

I am sometimes embarassed by the tinny sound of the doors and have been known to give a extra hard push make them sound a bit more solid on closing. Did you see that a more solid sound to the door closing is a mod. for 2005 Model Year cars? I think the interior can be improved by hiding some of the ...

Some owners in the US have had bubbles develop in the sensor fixing to the windscreen, which can interfere with the sensitivity of the wipers. Mine developed large bubbles following a spell in hot weather in France. So far the system works OK but my dealer said they will replace the screen should pr...

Why are so many Z4 owners unsociable?
I just had a Z4 draw alongside in slow traffic - same year, same colour, 3.0i and equally clean. I was ready to give a wave or perhaps a nod of recognition but not the slightest glance was forthcoming so as usual I slunk back into a pose of anonymity. I regularly get this lack of response - even whe...

Do you really like the way your Z4 handles?
Having taken delivery of my car on launch day it has been with me as long as anyone in the UK. Although I was not able to test drive before ordering, I knew that the design and spec was my "ideal" within a price bracket. Except - I have to admit (not always easy after spending £35,000) tha...

Does this just enhance the performance of the facility within the standard unit? How can you have time to react if the laser is already aimed at your car? R...

I have just been caught at 37mph in my wife's 1 Series (the 120d does accelerate well)! The time has come to fit a detector in my Z4 - any preferences re: the above? Do they pick up identified "Safety Camera" sites? I realise this will have been covered previously but some of you may have ...

I reported the same after we travelled in wet conditions on the French autoroutes. I was forced to drive at embarrassingly low speeds 40/50mph with most other performance cars passing at the wet speed limit. I am told that non-runflats are very much better in the wet but I am not inclined to replace...

I haven't got one! - 2003 launch day car 3.0i Have you realised that we lucky owners without the mystery component have faster cars - power to weight ratio and all that! Maybe failing an MZ4 we will have the fastest of all the production Z4s, perhaps becoming the sought after model in years to come!

Following your post I got a pack of the above (next day delivery) I have just used it on the hoods of my wedding cars and I am delighted with the results.
