Cheers Gazza and Minky,
I did indeed point him in this direction. A more friendly and helpful bunch of folk it would be very hard to find. If anyone down Portsmouth way spots it then give it a wave for me.

Thanks for all of that Alfie and I really appreciated the effort you put in to viewing for me before I bought it. While it is true that I have made every effort to sort out any minor cosmetic issues (respray etc), it is true to say that the wheels are not perfect with two having a couple of very min...

Sadly I must sell my OG11 ///M. Here is the link to my Pistonheads ad. http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/302648.htm Most on here know the cars history and know that the paintwork is immaculate and the rear shock top mounts have just been changed. I have nothing to hide about the car and any inspect...

  :) 44 People watching and only 3 actual bidders. I do find the way people use ebay bizarre sometimes. Alfie/Robert - I really wish I had a choice but it will have to go I'm afraid. I'll put it back on Pistonheads and link into the Stock Exchange on here and probably put it in the trade...

Hi Alfie I take your point but most people on here already have a Zed. Maybe not an ///M, but it's also true to say that not all zed owners want (or can afford  ) and ///M. Must admit I am gutted but I have to be realistic. It is my only disposable asset and I have to make some difficult decis...

Hi Minky I removed the PH ad but have put a listing on ebay. I honestly can't justify keeping it I'm afraid. The reserve on the ebay auction is not the £15,750 I had it on PH for but is a little more realistic. However, I will not be brow-beaten into effectively giving it away. What's the worst that...

Yeah, the thing that always amazes me is that people talk about highly tuned engines as if there is something mystical about them. With a few exceptions pretty much all the basic components of my engine are also in nearly every other engine in use today IYSWIM. It's not magic. As long as you are com...

I don't really want to sell so won't move along way from that sort of figure. Certainly not down to the pr...

Yes, Alfie. T'is I. The situation is a simple one. I don't want to sell but I may have to. I only put the add on Pistonheads (because it is free) to gauge interest at what is obviously the wrong time of year to sell a roadster. I do love the car but life has got VERY expensive just lately and it is ...

This morning in Sandbach
A dark blue (maybe topaz but looks darker) Z3 crossing the roundabout at the end of Salt-Line-Way in Sandbach this morning. Also regularly see a light blue (probably atlanta) zed with a small boot spoiler in and around Sandbach. I'm usually in my dark green ///M so give us a wave .

Replacing the rear shock top mounts (with OEM parts)
I know it's a simple job but I thought I would add a little "how-to" since I did mine today. First job before you jack up the car is to get at the top of the shock behind the seats. Just peel back the lining to expose the top of the shock. You will only need to pop out one of the push-in f...

Thanks for the link Exdos but their price is £105 (delivered) and to be honest I can't see my way clear to paying £65 more than the standard BM ones given that I will be fitting them myself. I don't doubt that the RE units are much better in terms of quality but at the moment I've got more important...

Rogue Engineering Top Mounts
Just had an e-mail from Rogue Engineering about my order for a pair of rear shock top mounts (hence the post title  ). The shipping is going to cost another $67 on top of the part price  . This is the cheapest they can do it via UPS. They have given me the option to cancel the order give...

Rear shock top mounts
I'm gonna change mine coz those bleedin chipmunks chattering away behind my head are driving me mad. Just wanted to double check that it's as simple as dropping the shock out, fitting the new mounts/gaskets and then offering it back up. Gonna do one side at a time and then give the nuts a final tigh...

Are you saying the alarm doesn't appear to work because it doesn't beep when you arm it or because it doesn't go off if you try to disturb the car after arming? My alarm doesn't beep either when it is armed (and it didn't on my previous car (2.8). All you get is the kerthunk of the doors locking. Jo...

Totally agree with you there Mike. The only problem nowadays Mike is that people are conditioned to insist on a FBMWSH before they will even entertain buying a car. It seems to me that people have lost the ability to use their eyes and assess how well a car has been cared for. There must be plenty of cars out there with a FSH which a...
