To answer no 1

Either do what Ludo suggests (have done that a couple of times  ) or get an expensive bit of white sticky plastick from your stealer or get some black tape and apply it to your lights - there are some cross hairs on the covers that mark the area you need to cover.

Cleaning Leather

Can anyone recommend a good leather cleaner that can take off the blue colour left by jeans. I've tried autoglym leather cleaner which takes most of of it off but the leather still looks slightly dirty.

Cheers

Thanks Steve but it's not the Zed that has the electrical problem but a 1995 Metro I've aquired  It came as a package firmly attached to a registration number I bought for our new Babywagon (VW Touran Sport with DSG). I wanted a low figure reg (the Jersey equivalent to a cherished number plate...

Anyone help with auto electrics?

I'm trying to trace a current drain that discharges the battery in about 6 hours. Using an ammeter in series I've managed to identify the circuit but now I need to identify the component that's the culprit. It could be either the central locking, horn or the hazard warning lights. Anyone have any hi...

I'm sure I've read somewhere that a speedo has a percentage error built in. I suppose that if a speedo under indicated then you could in theory sue the manufacturer if you got a speeding ticket whilst driving at an indicated legal speed.

14,500 in four and a bit years. That includes a few trips to France and one to that big island to the north a few years ago - although we nearly never made it back (something about a fuel crisis).

The car is used daily to and from work.

Then there's the skinflint way. Lightly spray the orange bulbs with silver paint - instant silvervision at a fraction of the price. Sprayed mine four years ago and still going strong (or should that be blinking strong).

Agree with all of the above and especially Jules75's comments about roundabouts. All hire car number plates over here are prefixed with a H so you can be aware that the car may 1 Stop suddenly without warning 2 Go round a roundabout several times before exiting. 3 Drive the wrong way down a one-way ...

ASC was standard on my 2.8 (2000) and DSC was an option when I ordered it. If you have DSC then you will have a DSC on/off button on the centre console (rather than ASC)
