Re: Cannot get into my Z1!!

I randomly encountered badboy outside my house yesterday evening after he clocked me taking my Z1 out of my garage and stopped to say hi (good to meet you). Does sound like he has tried all the various options listed here and so far got precisely nowhere. @ badboy: further to our chat, I would think...

Z1 on TV!

On Saturday nights, BBC4 is re-running episodes of "Inspector Montalbano", a 1990's Italian detective series set in Sicily, much to the delight of my girlfriend, who is Italian and a fan of all things Sicilian. So it was duly recorded and watched. It was actually quite good but immeasurably better w...

Did get a very odd look from the occupants of a police 4x4 that overtook us on the snow-blanketed A4 on the way home. But I really don't think we would have had much fun trying to go anywhere in the M5 on normal tyres.

Bet that mine was the only Z1...

...out and about last night. Took this as we arrived home late last night:

Might seem odd to have used it but the snow was forecast and it has winter tyres whereas the M5 does not and would not have moved an inch!

If I bought a B3s I would fit it with MSport front and rear bumpers anyway. The SE ones are ugly and the Alpina bits do not improve them! RT you use the words "if i boughts a B3s" and drive a M5 V10, surely it would be cheaper to buy a Msport touring and put a M5 V8 or V10 instead of puting the Msp...

I get why people buy Alpinas. I've quite a hankering for a B3S Touring...discrete (I'd ditch the stripes and badging), whip-crack fast and with a nicer interior than normal BMWs.

Selling Z1s is tricky. They are LHD and that murders the appeal for many in this country. Also few people actually know about them. Plus £20k is quite steep money for a small and not very fast roadster given what else £20k can buy you these days, so you really have to want one.

I am not mechanically minded - presume you can fiddle with the gearing of the E90 box to suit the V10's power delivery. Will it take the torque? The V10's not a particularly torquey engine for its size but nevertheless more than the average E90, 335d excepted?

At the risk of sounding flippant, a car like this is worth what someone else is prepared to pay for it and what you are prepared to accept for it! It'll never be worth what it cost to build but I would have thought you could split the difference between £20k and whatever it did cost all-in. Lovely t...
