Does anyone know why the section on past events on the home page shows over 20 events from 2005 and just 2 from 2006?

Just read the advert. Think the guy selling is an old school salesman!

She just devours straights, is ready to punish any corner directed at her and makes a complete mockery of any slight curvature in the road that we tend to call corners in most other cars?

Diy oil change - bargain!

Though MR needed some new oil, 4000 miles since last service and Vanos getting a bit noisier at idle. Threads here on oil make me think 10W-60 may make it last a bit longer. Anyway off to car spares shop... Found some lovely Castrol 10w-60 at the 4th shop visited. £33 for 4 litres. Off back ...

I would be interested to know whether there is an easy way to reset the light. Mine is on at the moment after I messed about with some fuses. The reset tool is about £80 and I may buy one but it wouldnt surprise me if its just a case of shorting 2 pins on the connector.

Any clever people out there??

Car insurance for my lad

My boy passed his test recently on the second attempt and its time for his first car. Can anyone recommend a source of cheap insurance? Cheapest I have seen on tinternet is about £1400 TFFT for a 1.0 Corsa.

I looked at adding him onto the insurance for the MR (for a laugh) and they want £4k :o

It doesnt sound like Vanos failure. Oil loss=broken bottom end, Vanos broke=noise and no power. Sounds like timing chain failure or other parts of the cam drive. Sounds expensive :(

I got home in the car the other day and noticed a small dent in the drivers door. Someone has obviously opened their door onto mine, probably minutes earlier when I was parked at local shops. There are lots of threads on here about leaking roofs - you should try a search. It sounds like yours is leaking through the seals above the doors. Make sure you raise the hood with the windows down a bit then raise the windows last. That may sort it.
