Happy 300k

Well.... a small milestone today. Had most of the typical ailments over the last 7 years as the Z3 reaches middle age........... and enjoying every minute. Perfect car for the capable tinkerer. Present open issues are the sender unit and a disintegrating rubber differential mount. :cheers http://i26...

Your mirrors are just as good as any.
Just have them reworked and sprayed. Much cheaper than replacing them.

As PM (preventative maintenance) - you should remove a bubbling mirror and have it cleaned and resprayed. You want to delay the corrosion once the paint gets compromised.

So there will be two connectors.
One to power the seats and one to the belt tensioner (and I think some cars had a connector to indicate if the sealt belt is connected)

If not twisted regularly over the years - corrosion bonds them in place and the cast Aluminium is very brittle.

You'll need to remove the seat (after disconnecting the battery) and lower the chair manually (after disconnecting the "height" gearing).
In a recent thread I posted pics of the 90degreee gear the is knackered on mine.

Differential mount bushing

Noticed recently that when the car is straining (eg uphill) - there is a vibration/rumble that resembles the failure of an exhaust mount bushing. Everything on the exhaust is perfect - but noticed that the differential mount bushing is knackered (pic) My guess is that this is the culprit. How much o...

Even if you find a replacement handle - make sure you enforce it with epoxy internally before you install as the plastic is aging and may crack upon first use.

It seems like the rivets behind the hockey stick have popped. My guess is that the leather in the card was replaced and they used a poor adhesive rather than replacing the rivets with screws. To fully investigate you need to remove the card and look at the rivets from the back. The shortcut is to tr...

There are also the following possibilities: 1. When I removed the motor the worm slipped out and thus was not engaged. The ID of my 3 holes of each of the holes in the fascia is just 53.5mm. You claim to have near 60 and some have claimed close to 50. Vendors seem to sell 50,53,54 & 60mm options - so they all seem to exist.
