Re: 320 vs 340mm rid steering wheels

I hope your german is good as their English is not brilliant. Try carnewal, although Gert is a porsche specialist they are the same wheel and he will be able to source you the Z3 hub if needed. His English is good and he has a great rep in porsche circles. The other option is keep your eyes open on ...

Re: ZM and 3.0 sport

Re the 3 v ///M debate the best examples of the differences are actually on the road driving. I've done numerous fast road runs with well sorted 3 litres in the group. Driven hard they are quick but for example driven hard out of a 2nd gear roundabout the ///M has to be held back or it would drive t...

Re: ZM and 3.0 sport

The 3.0i and the M are both touring cars, and neither can be considered as a sports car, both having dodgy handling. The 3.0i has more than sufficient performance for its roll in life, who needs the M.? I would suggest any one looking for a proper sports car having power to spare and perfect handli...

Re: 320 vs 340mm rid steering wheels

I run a 340mm on my Z3 and 360mm on my porsche........ The 320mm would be too small for the Z3 and obscure the dials IMHO, a 340mm is perfect IMHO. Don't fall into the trap of thinking it's only 10mm each side as that makes a massive difference in terms of turning effort and feel. Ps I fitted the la...

Hi, I fitted the slightly later steering wheel to my '97 2.8 about 4 months ago......... When you say later do you mean a post 04/99 two stage airbag wheel :? If so it won't work as designed as your car is the earlier single stage SRS system. That should not cause the light to come on however as th...

There are four factors to consider with Z3 steering wheels which are:- - the thickness, it's generally accepted the OEM wheel is too thin and a thicker wheel feels much better - diameter, the OEM wheel is too large IMHO. A smaller diameter wheel makes the "driving" feel so much better, my preference...

I always try to keep the same tyres on all 4 corners but the original wheels on mine when I got it were mixed front to rear. They were fine. Nothing wrong in doing it but you are adding an extra dimension of complexity in mixing brands.

Can you post up pics of the carbon air box ?

Normally air box and remap alone on an S50 will not get close to 350bhp. Most S50s run closer to 290 up to 320 at most without exhaust side / engine mods and redline lifting to 8000rpm.
