You can buy chrome looking wheel nut covers but they are made from plastic.
I've had mine several years now and they have never come off, and makes the wheel nut look nice.
Have a look on eBay that's where I got mine.

The plastic must have been too thin as I have a plastic one done 70 plus with it and was ok. I did make it myself though

I have a 97 2.8 and I thought that there was only one socket under the bonnet and that was it.

Probably the guy fitting them hadn't done it before, seems funny that he had to cut the liner to make it fit more so with a OEM part?

One other tip I used a small mirror to give me a better view of the hole while moving the switch.

I wonder of that is why I couldn't find the wires for my heated seats. I was looking under the dash where as they could be fed through between the seat to the back. Mine is a 97 car also.

I have a 2.8 but I think that they are all the same. You have to go under the car, about where the passenger seat is. The filter is covered with a heat sheld secured by 4 bolts. For anyone reading this thread, it only only referring to the early alarm with the separate fob and not to the later alarm with the buttons on the key. There are therefore no chips of electronics to swap over as we are not talking about the key blade, only the separate fob unit. They key switch on ...

Had a look on ebay an they are selling the whole thing as in the case and the electronics, so might have a look at them. I've already reprogrammed my alarms to the car so I'm ok doing that again.

When I reconnected the battery after a couple of weeks the alarm didn't sound, but then did when I disconnected a few weeks later, hence the question.
It isn't really a problem just thought I'd ask and gain some more knowledge :rtm:

After changing the gearbox oil the sump nut has developed a leak :head: The leak isn't bad only one drip every couple of months or so. I know that Halfords reduce their oil about twicea year, maybe it's just like any other shop if they reduce the price of oil, hopefully you may buy other items while in their shop?

I've used it in my Z3 for a few years now, meaning that I can change the oil every year, even if I've only done a few thousand miles without a large cost. :D

I don't know if anyone uses Halford's oil, but any type is only £12 for 4 Litres. :D
