Cabrio half cover arrived and fitted. So far really pleased with it. It fits perfectly and is really secure. Quality is also very good so I'm glad I paid a little more to get a good product. Ideal for this damp British summer :?

Good idea Barry, although so much 'Gen' can be gleaned from our own forum, as you say there must be a lot of folks who wouldn't even contemplate some jobs or have the right tools etc. Having a person nearby who could help or just give verbal advice might give someone that bit of confidence to tackle...

I have recently renewed all my springs and shocks with o.e.m. Sachs kit. Where did you get yours from?

Just spoken to Sytner in Nottingham, and they confirmed that there is a gasket which isn't sold separately. You have to buy the screw bolt for £9.36 which then comes with the gasket, which is why the gasket is 'greyed' out in the diagram. Part needs to be ordered from Germany which is the case for a...

Right then. This carboned bolt does look it came from one of the exhaust manifolds and ties up with item No12 on the above realoem as suggested by colb, although its not a hex as the diagram indicates. I took Mrs KF on exactly that route last August, absolutely brilliant time. My friend RockyDave and I have taken the Zed's to Le Mans and Spa and we've found that his M54 2.2 does use more oil than my slightly older M52 2.8. Thanks guys for that, with the sooty bottom it does look like one of the screw plugs from either the front or rear manifold. Hopefully the little gasket might be in position or lying on the driveway.

All of a sudden a light rattling sound which grew louder, then a bang and a exhaust hissing sound. This bad boy then found under front right of car underneath the exhaust manifold. It now sound like a banger racer! Interestingly, the flat base is covered in soot, indicating exhaust? I'll check under...

Myself and Rocky Dave took the Zeds to LM24 two years ago and had a super trip. In July we're back again but to the LM Classic in July. Have a great time 8-)

I fitted 20mm's on mine Alan, and using the 'high tech' piece of wood method across the wheel arch I think they sit well. Obviously it does depend on the wheel specs.

Apart from a new soft top........new front shocks and top mounts, original standard control arm bushes (purple PowerFlex perhaps a little too hard for my liking?) and a new high viz brake light rubber seal (and what a pig to fit! :x )

They use a mohair vinyl virtually the same as the OEM top imported from an American company Haatz. Dee at Soft Tops suggested I check their website out first to check the colours and specs. He then makes the top to order as opposed to buying them in, so keeping the cost down. I sure he won't mind, b...

Last April Del paid £325 fitted, two months ago I was quoted £375 but now it's £395. Bit of a jump but apparently it's up by £20 due to seasonal demand. It's a business at the end of the day. You can pay a lot more but Soft Tops seem to have a really good reputation.

Thanks kjb1, I've already sealed it with a nice double layer of clear silicone sealant, more than I would have normally used but it's only got to last another week. Will take the seat out on the next sunny day (perhaps tomorrow) and dry out the thick underlay.

Then drained the coolant allowing me to carefully remove the matrix. There was no sign of water/coolant around the carpet underneath the heater box or within the ...
