Re: Newbie looking for Z3 or Z4

Z3 heated seats; Its the 2 outer buttons with the heated seat symbol on, 2 position. if there is a blank there no heated seats. They were an extra cost option. So with air con as well the switch order would be from right to left: Drivers heated seat DSC on off (or ASC if its an older car not as effe...

Re: Newbie looking for Z3 or Z4

Looks a very clean car. Biggest problem for me would be no heated seats. They make a huge difference in the early and late months and extend your driving time by a few months in the year. No CD changer in the boot which again for me is good especially on the Z3 as this eats into valuable boot space....

Re: Newbie looking for Z3 or Z4

Just do your research. Look on piston heads, eBay and auto trader. You may find the same car advertised in several places. I purchased my Z3 from a guy down in Swansea called GB cars. He has a nice Z4 for sale at the moment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272303280852 He tends to sell high quality cars. T...

Re: Newbie looking for Z3 or Z4

Depends on your budget and whether you want something to do up or just buy and drive. I went for a Z3 2.2 sport in Titanium silver. One owner car from new with full BMW service history, leather heated seats hifi audio power roof but no air con. I have enjoyed immensely bringing it up to my very high...

its looking like I will be coming by myself so far, the missus has given me a pass out! Mother in law has stabilised somewhat.

If this changes, well basically if I am not there in a silver 52 plate 2.2 sport by 8:30am just go without me.

Weather is looking dry with light cloud and highs of 17c. Fingers crossed this does not change for the worst.

Had a run out for a few hours yesterday and it was glorious!!

Still only just over 200 cars registered so I don't think it's going to be a massive meet.

The biggest problem we had in May was that even though the group arrived together we all got split up during the queue to get in. Re: Does the ECU take time to settle down?

To be fair I did use the wrong terminology. The object of shorting out the two battery cables was to allow the ecu to learn the new airflow of the new air filter. I suppose this just deletes some short term memory setting just like clearing the cache on a PC but the operating system is not touched a...

Just for interest some time ago I fitted a pipercross air filter to my 2.2 Z3Sport. Hmm this all sounds like a complete pain.

Looking on BMW fans I can see the slip ring assembly for my 2.2 M54 being 32 30 2229 488. Is the spring part of this or something else? Have looked at the upper column mechanics too but unsure of which part it could be.

I am afraid the answer is no! Gave both couplings a really good dousing in the GT85 and worked the steering back and forth for a few minutes - no change at all.
