'C' spanner now realised - courtesy of E'bay & £5.00.

Hi to you all. Despite reluctantly and very recently putting my Z3 + OEM hardtop up for sale I have just acquired a 'C' spanner. It is actually 135mm total length and was probably designed for a slightly larger toothed nut than is on the Z3 hardtop - I have made it fit by closing the 'C' with a few ...

The very reluctant sale of my 2000 (W) Z3 2.0ltr Auto

Hi to you all. It is with much reluctance that I am putting my 2000 facelift/wide bodied Z3 up for sale. Having found that my arthritis (Knees,Hips and Ankles) is not making getting in and out easy and especially when parked-up and the mindlessly unrealistic people do not give me room to open the do...

Re: Z3 Hardtop 'C' spanner.

My BT Superfast Broadband will allegedly be fully functional by the 14th of April !! That's debatable. I've been with the same ISP, Zen Internet, for 10 years and for good reason - in that time I've had cause to call tech support twice, and one of those was because BT's card in the exchange had loc...

Re: Z3 Hardtop 'C' spanner.

You are looking in the wrong place for the toothed nut. It is on the top side of the clamp on the hardtop UNDER the plastic cover. This enables you to adjust the hardtop whilst it is on the car. If memory serves there is a screw holding the plastic cover on. Cheers R. Sent from my SM-T810 using Tap...

Re: Z3 Hardtop 'C' spanner.

It is used to tighten/undo the toothed nut on the rear mounts on the hardtop. You can adjust these in all three axes to get a good fit. Height is reasonably obvious, but adjusting the width actually flexes the roof slightly and can enable you to get a good seal on both side windows. Fore/aft is als...
