With it fitted and the MOT passed the worst thing that's going to happen is it doesn't have a long life span.

As I won't be doing more than 2000 miles a year and in reality a lot loss I'm not going to worry. If I get 3 years out of it that will be success for £100 fitted.

I had the local garage fit it. They said it was a good fit other than needing to heat it up to clear the sub-frame. But another forum member has the same exhaust and fitted it himself with no issues. I tried to find a second-hand one recently but it was a waste of time and there is no guarantee on the condition when you find one. fix the disa valve asap the pin may drop out and get sucked into the engine .saying that if its threw a code its probably just gummed up you can buy rebuild kits on ebay for about £50 It's a 175 DISA Control Circuit Electrical error. The budget exhaust (£45.46 with postage) was fitted today. I let the garage do it just in case I had problems. They said it fitted easily although when I asked them if it had a flattened section for the subframe they said no and that they had to heat it up with a torch and bend it. It is a bit noisy...

Isn't there a mechanism on the filter housing that discharges the oil into the sump as the filter is moved around?

Or does this only work on the way out to clear the oil out of the filter for draining?

Well I had what I consider to be a very luck break with the high idle problem. It took no time at all when I started looking to spot a small line that had perished right through. That's very high, a smallish vacuum leak can push up the idle but nowhere near that. A large vacuum leak would cause non-start problems and lean error codes. I have INPA which is where I got the code from. But I'm new to it. Where do I look to activate the valve? And what am I looking for it to do? The actual description for code 175 is DISA Control Circuit Electrical. So that sounds like a failure in the electronics to me rather than a mechanical failur...

Noted the codes slightly wrong in the post. The 167 was the fuel pump relay caused by me pulling the relay. It cleared fine along with a battery code. The cam sensor was 112. Which also cleared with the first 2 codes in fairness. The 175 DISA did not clear. The ABS pump was 113 and seems to come fro...

34.51-1164896 is the pump. 34.51-1164897 is the module. I think it was superceded with a different part number which is how it's shown on realoem. 34511165052 & 34516756289 respectively. I think what I really meant to ask was are the error codes enough to tie down whether it's the wheel sensor, ABS pump or ABS control module. Or is some trial and error required.

Having read a few old posts now it looks like it's not an exact science.

How did you did diagnose the ABS pump failure? I've just fostered my brother's Z3 and want to get it back on the road after a lay off. It had an intermittent ABS warning light before it came off the road. Our concern is if it's the pump rather than a faulty sensor it could be an expensive barrier.
