Here's a tip to go with Bruce's suggestion. Before removing the front wing by sliding forward it would be a good idea to put masking tape on the top edge of the headlamp glass then there is a reduced chance of chipping the paint on the wing edge ajacent to the headlamp. Of course it is easier to get...

Z1 Mirrors

Hi Ant The mirror has a friction/spring joint. On the underside of the mirror near the joint there is a small black plastic cover. This is held in by a drive pin. Under this plastic cover is a 'nut' which determines the friction in the mirror joint. It is not a conventional nut and needs a special t...

Re: Panels.

As regards your door skin I feel it must have been hit and suggest the crease is from the internal arm which raises the window glass. Even if you replace the skin it would be a good idea to look at this mechanism to see if it has been bent out of alignment. The door skin is very thin and flexible an...

Now wishing i waited for 1 lol. :head: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4568592384&fromMakeTrack=true#ebayphotohosting [/b] I believe it is simple to make the Z1 conform to the German (Euro 5?) emission regulations. Z1 Hoses

My Z1 is now 15 years old. Has anyone any experience on hose life? My car has done approx 15,000 miles and always had correct corrosion inhibiter in system but there must be some general view on hose life as there is on cambelts. Any rubber fetish experts out there?
Many thanks.

Alternative to carrying spare tyre

Im sorry ZZZEMMCO was so dismissive of my comments. To further expand I would explain that the UltraSeal was in conventional road tyres tyres on an Enduro Rally car of mine. One tyre had a slow puncture, the sealant had clearly not worked. The puncture was in a repairable position and I wanted to us...

Alternative to carrying a spare tyre?

For some years I carried a couple of the standard orange aerosols. Decided this was past its sell by date and looked at the kit thet comes with the M Z Coupe. this is a neat compressor with gunge. Like all these preventive measures one often finds they are seldom needed. My main concern is that the ...

Strut Brace

To PaulC
Interested to read your dealer reckoned clips for grating under wipers were £30 each. I recently bought some Part No. 51 71 1 928 946 cost 12p plus vat each. I rather think someone has lifted your leg!
