M44 lightweight flywheel
Hi
has anybody got a lightweight flywheel on their M44 ?
and if so where did you get it from ?
I can only seem to find them from the US and they're quiet expensive.
I dont mind spending the money as long as its a quality item

hi there I'm just going down the supercharger route myself all i'd say is budget for some suspension/bushes and brake upgrades as well. - otherwise you may end up in a hedge somewhere ! with the blower on i guess you'd be close to the torque figures of the 540i. (i had one of these in E39 guise). Yo...

New Mini Diesel - fuel consumption
Got a new Mini clubman cooper diesel last month. Fuel consuption figures are nowhere near the claims !!
book states between 60-80mpg.
i havent got anywhere close to that, best so far 56mpg, worst 48mpg.
its a great car though, especially weird as its the estate.

Just to respond to Rob T 1) tried fluxy, they were over £600 2) it was on a classic policy, the mods excluded it from further cover anyhow I have now insured it through Admiral, quiet flexible with mods - £463. Still alot, but ok for piece of mind. Plus i have future modifications in mind and they w...

A word of warning - mods and insurance rip offs !!!!
I've just rang my insurance to disclose the mods to my Z3 premium originally was £280 comp they have now told me that the current insurance wont allow mods, so it will be cancelled (no refund ! although i have 5 months remaining) and there best quote is now £637 ! All that for changing brakes, suspe...

An interesting thread this one, lots of different views, some heated ! I myself have used main dealers for a few years now, the same one actually (Romford) for a few reasons. Firstly i have had V8 BMW's for many years, one of which was an 840ci, i would not trust this to be looked at anywhere else o...

I am also looking into supercharging at present. I spoke to downing atlanta the other night and the kit is still available, it was the supercharger that went out of production. They have now secured a small run of superchargers with eaton (MP62), and will be selling again in approx 2 weeks. However ...

Has anybody on the forum got experience of a cam swap on the M44 engine ?
I'm looking at options at the moment

does anybody know of any other options, going to commit next week
thanks

not sure about those coilovers on ebay. Plenty of decent road set-ups about if you look around. setting ride height is a matter of measuring before and after. then jacking then car up and re-adjusting the platforms. this will set ride height, but not corner weights. you need scales for this, or take...

You may find a little difficulty's with coilovers and off-sets i run a 8.5j 38 front off-set with a coilover set up and yes the spring is thinner but it also sits alot lower than the standard suspension cup. What i mean is off set clearance on standard set up is to the strut body on a coilover its q...

Personally i'd avoid coilovers full stop for a road car, on bumpy roads handling will probably be even worse. quote] I strongly doubt a £1k + fully height and damper adjustbale coilover kit will ruin the handling....Perhaps if we drove Lambos and ferraris yes. However, a more basic non damper adjus...

I have just fitted coilover setup all round. i also replaced all the bushes at the front end with the poly type and fitted billet roller type adjustable top mounts. I have lowered the car allround by approx 40mm, which looks fine and wheels do not rub on the arches, although they are getting close. ...
