Re: Condensation in Boot

I've got a similar leak on ours. When I pour water into the 'gutter' around the boot it drains where the wing meets the boot panels. There is a gap there and the water runs into the wheelarch and out only some of it finds it's way into the panel that the boot carpet is fixed to and there is a small ...

Re: WARNING - Polishers look away now!

It will be another week at least before it is worth washing it as once the thaw sets in there will be even more muck on the roads. Glad to see the car being used, would love to use ours more but restricted to cars less than 10 years old for work. I'll probably get roped in to clean the kids cars whe...

Re: DSC problem

If you noticed it on the seat it is probably leaking where the roof meets the windscreen A pillar. I would guess the solution is to check from inside to see if you can see daylight where the roof meets the A pillar and if so get a piece of old inner tube and place on top of the A pillar and then ret...

How would the carpets/underlay get wet? Where would the leak be? I read on one forum that these sensors can play up if wet and I had checked the wheel sensor and their resistance at the abs pump the steering angle sensor had been reset and I was scratching my head. I've had the same problem on our 3.0 and the sensors are under the passenger seat. The TIS is american. Ours was in the body shop recently and the battery disconnected for a week or so and the fault has cured itself. To access the 2 sensors seat has to come out and you can check if under the carpets...

I dont understand when folk are saying that a 265/40 will look taller than any other 40 profile? isnt it the 40 profile that gives the tyre its hight regardless of width................... The 40 is the height of the tyre as a percentage of the width ie 265/40 is 106mm tall, 245/40 is 98mm tall so ...

They seem to be a common failure and as Robert says there is a write up how to change.

It is the bulb and holder and is usually quite stiff to remove and not easy to see. It is the same bulb that is in the base of the ashtray to illuminate it.

We live near the A5 in Warwickshire/Leicestershire where MIRA is and see loads of chequerboard cars. They must be fairly well on with the development to be out on the main roads or they are working on some facelifts. We saw the new Ftype a few months back + the odd Maclaren and Lambo.

I removed my viscous fan recently. I made a tool to go over one of the bolts on the fan pulley and rest against another then use the 32mm spanner to undo the coupling. Reverse thread so undo as if you were doing up a bolt. Once the coupling is undone you have to remove the two plastic rivets at the ...

The wheels look like the spiders from a 535 and if they are 18 check the profile size so that they don't upset the rolling radius of the wheel against the standard.

Looks in good nick apart from the obvious bits already mentioned.
