Probably not warping, probably just par meteial build-up on the discs.

It's hard to believe the data has been archived. When I take my car in for a service and give them the VIN, they can tell me every last detail about my car. The info from BMW we need is quite simple. For those cars where we have a reg, colour, etc all we need to do is match it to a VIN. Then there'...

We can add that to the list of other setups that work. You are correct, there is a lot of BS on car forums, including this one, which is why I...

I just fitted the Earls clutch hose and changed the gearbox oil. Very noticeable improvement. Much more feel in the clutch pedal and improved gearchange. Sealed for life? What a load of rubbish! New oil can do nothing but good. BMW gearbox oil lasts the lifetime of the gearbox, which is longer if y...

There is clearly an order to follow when trying to sort out handling issues and IMO it really should start with the simple and cheap stuff first. 1. Tyre pressures - Know what the pressure should be front and rear for laden and unladen. BMW recomended pressures are supposed to be measured cold, not ...

Quick fix at Munich Legends
During the oil service and annual check a couple of weeks ago the good chaps down at Munich Legends noticed my fuel tanking was moving a little too much. This was due to the rubber insulation pieces having fallen out from between the tank and the retaining straps. This is a common cause of rattles f...

HI All, I contacted BMW and local wreckers, can't get the collar nut until Monday. I have someone coming to look at the car on Sunday who specifically requested testing it without strut braces. Can I use the Strong Strut collar nuts with washers temporarily and will the car be safe to drive? I see ...

I have installed, removed and re-installed a butt strut and the only piece you ned is the nuts. Everything else stays in place. FWIW, I also noticed little benefit in having a butt strut on its own. Urethane subframe bushes did make a significant difference though. Add the body brace and then the bu...

OGII was the color of my fist Z3 and still a fav of mine. If I were to part with my LSB, OGII is what I would have. Sad about the BS engine comments as all engines have their foibles. I would get it done now because. 1. MOT is a good history document for the car with dates and mileage. A gap in the MOT could impact future desireability. 2. MOT may be a condition of your insurance policy. You would not want a theft claim turned down or extra hassle with the valuation because you d...

Surely in this situation you'd be better off sticking an s54 in? They are a far more common engine to come by so I'd think you would pick one up for a fair bit less? Is the conversion very difficult? Why? S50 would slot straight in, an S54 would be plenty of hassle with electrics, immobiliser, ECU,...

Sorry, but I think people have been leading you down the path here. If you have a power hood then you have all the wiring you need in the car. The connector you found near where the hardtop bracket goes is the one you want. Without a hardtop it feeds just the hood micro-switch. With a hardtop it fee...

Not all dampers have gas pressure. Some just damp movement by restricting the flow of oil through valves. My KWs work exactly like that. Either stick with PS2s or change all 4 to allow a 255 on the back. I m not convinced the Z3 really needs anything more on the back for normal driving. for sure though a 255 looks better and is more matched to the front in terms of rolling size.

I have seen a few people do this on the US boards. it seesm a bit too bespoke for most people and only Active Autowerke seem to do a kit. This one I kinked to was installed by Randy Forbes. Superchargers are much less intrusive.
