HI, I took youir advice Bert and used some canvas water-proofer from Ray's Outddoor World here in Tasmania. It worked a treat and only cost me equivalent to GBP7. I think I will treat it annually unless it starts to stay wet.

Hi, like others have said this is called tramlining. It is most commonly caused by worn and hardened tires. I had exactly the same issue just two weeks ago until i got new tires. Now perfect. I just found out that Loctite make a putty that you kneed then apply which dries fast. It can be drilled and painted! Looks like that is what I need! It is cheap too.

I believe 5W40 full synthetic is recommended however I would not be surprised if you get a variety of answers. Changing the oil on a regular basis to avoid sludge build up is best and you can use a mineral oil on a temp basis to use as a cleaning agent. Be sure to change the 2 small 0 rings in the o...

Hi I recommend: Take Zed for a spin to heat up the oil, remove the oil filter and replace also replace the two small O rings on the shaft, remove oil plug and let it all drain out. Replace the drain plug washer with a copper one being careful not to over-tighten. Replace oil with 5w40 full synthetic...

Gentlemen, if you know the best place to buy bushes and provide some estimated costs that will solve a whole lot of heartache for the guy

I got a quote for some bushes here in Australia and the prices were outrageous! I could actually get replacement arms from England for the price they quoted me.

Make sure you read up on the procedure to replace them as it is quite a bit of work!

As a temporary fix I am using large gauge heat shrink tubing placed over the two ends. Hmmm might run out and do that now.

I cannot buy a genuine BMW key from an overseas dealer [not allowed] and BMW will not sell a blank key [not here in Australia anyway] for securit...

Getting my blank "standard key" chipped - £140 getting a copy of the universal key made including chip etc.... £55
That is more like it.

You do not program the EWS to recognise the new key - it has to be one of the 8 chips - but you can tell the car not to respond to one or more of the keys (in case one is lost for example). You can actually reprogram the EWS using an AK90, which costs about £50. Have a look at this: http://www.card...

I have just started keeping data on fuel consumption comparisons using 98. Standard here is 91, then 95, then 98 as top shelf stuff.
