Nice to see a grey Porsche, best colour to have.

I have only ever had the air cooled variety, are the newer 911's easier to drive than the older air cooler beasts ?

Dude I said that to you before you installed them haha. Stand wheels have such low offset, when you've slammed the fronts, the camber makes the wheels at the top to poke right in like / \ << that lol. So as they go in, the will touch the suspension (whether its thinner or not). On standard rims I h...

^^^^ I'd worry alot about the centrebore, if you dont sit concentric on the hub you'll soon know about it ! I'm all for modifying, but the Z3's handling can tramline, doing this looks like it may make this worse and create and evil monster ! James, your car looks good, like the 'stance' as you call ...

No, it means you could knock out the front wheel bearings quicker

What about the centrebore ? how are you sitting the wheels on the hub ?

What are you doing about the larger centrebore ? do you have spigot rings to correct ?

You may get these on the front, but they will stick out and they will change the loading on the wheel bearing

Re: Dallan's Build Thread...(Pic heavy).

No, it isn't like that. (i have had coilovers on my Z3)

the spring platform and spring are lower and longer than the standard shocks, so the clash with the tyre/rim. on a standard wheel you normally need around a 5mm spacer to clear the clash

Re: Dallan's Build Thread...(Pic heavy).

I think you will struggle to get your wheels to fit properly, especially with coilovers on the front. the tyres/wheel rims normally clash with the spring/platform and need spacing.

At the risk of being branded as a 'Know It All' by certain twisted people, have a look at the Haynes E36 manual - it is not very good (like all of these books) but will at least give you an idea of where the various components are. Do not buy the Bentley manual, which is a waste of space! So you re...

F/S 1.9 M44 water pump - newish !

Had a garage clearout at the weekend and found an M44 water pump, it was new - fitted once, run up then removed and now been sitting in a draw.

No use to me now, its perfect with a metal impellor (not the plastic/nylon type)

£13.00 inc postage if somebody want it - even for a spare !

Its very sad when people are abusive. This is a useful thread and the M44 is a great engine with potential. Its also make the Z3 handle nicely because of its weight distribution/position.

true, you do have to spend a bit of money to get some meaningful power, but that is part of the fun :)

The M3 clutch from the 3.0 is the correct one for the M44. This then matches up with the release bearing and clutch arm. You will also need the m3 clutch slave cylinder.

The flywheel Marc has is a chromoly steel one, lightened . I know this because I sold it to him !
