If you have a warranty I'd try and use it. I'd certainly expect it to cover the DSC/brake warnings and the door not opening. Not sure about a water leak, but I'd just blag it anyway if I were you and make it clear that you expect these things fixed.

As a couple of others have said, you can't expect the car not to have aged just because it only has 50,000 mile on it. It's still 14 years old, and rubber bits and pieces will perish due to time rather than mileage. I'm starting to change the bushes on my similar age (but higher mileage) car, as the...

I know you want one that doesn't need a laptop, but if you have access to a laptop I'd seriously reconsider. You can get far more information and do much more with the software-based diagnostics. For example, my ASC didn't work when I bought the car - the previous owner had 'helpfully' removed the w...

Re: Help!! Revs over run at pedal lift.
Could be idle control valve sticking - had that on other cars. Could be an air leak, but probably not if it suddenly 'switches' back to normal rather than dropping to a normal speed. I'd take the idle control valve off and run some carb cleaner through it as it's so easy to do. It's at the front of ...

I'm with Mike - I just don't see this being brakes. I have a Range Rover that at just t...

I think you have a bad remote, possibly a bad battery in the remote. On that alarm if you don't hear two beeps, the alarm isn't set. However, when the alarm isn't set the grey button (which is the unlock button when set) is a 'panic alarm', and depressing it will set the alarm off immediately. You s...

It will probably only be able to read things that are 'standard' OBDII items, that have to be readable by generic OBDII hardware. The manufacturer-specific modules are usually only accessible through proprietary equipment, albeit through the same connector. But, you may get lucky.

You can check for airleaks by spraying some WD40 around some of the likely joints, and then seeing if the engine speed briefly changes as it gets drawn in and burnt in the engine. You can also do this using a water spray if you prefer, and listen for a slight decrease in engine speed. You can also t...
