Lol :P the X6 looks good, possibly the only SUV-type car that I wouldn't mind driving. Can't say the same about the X5 though.. But honestly, I don't understand why we can't have an M version of the 1-series. Come on BMW... stop trying to chip away at Porsche's grotesque Cayennes and give us a bit o...

Not bad as an SL rival and the interior echoes the Z8 nicely, but what a lard-arse at 1500Kg! This metal roof fad is a whole bunch of nonsense.. TBH i hope to see the small Z2 concept (SLK rival) with a fabric roof realised soon :P Also hopefully BMW will not call it the Z4... this will break the tr...

Interesting - my old '96 1.9 had a subwoofer without a badge on the grille. I eventually found out this was an optional part for the plain speaker setup and it was made by NOKIA (really!), when i took it apart for fun :P My facelift 2.8 ('00) has the HK setup and that's quite clearly badged. You could also try tightening the roof hooks a tad, if it's water coming in from the corner of the windscreen where it meets the roof. The hooks are adjustable and might give you a better (tighter) fit that will stop the leaking until you can get hold of some gummipflege. IIRC you will need an allen...

Fair point and each to their own opinion but a) no mention of their son driving a fast car, so could very well have been a 1.2 Fiesta or something similar and b) assuming it was a fast car, it's parents that buy their 18-year olds the equivalent of M3s that should be monitored and most likely jailed...

Almost all gps receiver chips produce a position-based speed calculation several times a second, almost good enough for real-time speed measuring. This information can be passed to a GPS unit's display to be shown to the driver (e.g. screen), or it can be logged. It sounds to me that the unit the te...

Fitted my projectors from the group buy and thought I'd post a couple of pics here to show everyone. Max, sorry to say this but in the 4th photo one can clearly see the road through your exhaust tips. Whoever did this for you clearly didn't use a 1to2 adaptor but just welded the tips right on the stub of the original oval tip. Maybe it would have been best to stick to the original oval pipes or at ...

The trip computer on Euro cars shows L/100km instead of MPG and there is no way to change that using the controls on the unit itself. I would imagine that the modules would be exactly the same, hardware wise, with possibly different software versions in the ROM or some sort of flag (jumper?) that ch...

The steering wheels might look the same but in fact they are very different if you look at the rear. You will need to get one from another Z3. If you're going for the M wheel instead, ensure it's one from a post-99 car with a dual stage airbag. In this case you can use an M wheel from a late E36 (I ...

I had a similar problem (squealing during turns) and also excessive dust on the wheel it was coming from (front right). Turned out to be glazing on the pads or some sort of debris between pad and disc, braking really hard a few times cured it. On my 3er i had a periodic squeal from the rear which in...

Welcome to the club :) I also have a 2000 2.8 (3/2000), probably one of the last few 2.8s too! The conclusion of the zed-cars poll was that most respondents (71%) are willing to pay at least an additional 10%* on the price of their new car. Unscientific?
