Re: Reluctant manual Softop!

Don't wish to sound silly, but do you tilt up the front of the roof to pull it back, after you have released the two locking levers - it's not immediately obvious you need to do that When you do put it back I also sort of chop the back window with my arm, so it folds nicely without creasing :)

Re: Passenger seat airbag light

I'll get the seat out again and check the connectors for damage an obvious faults. The wiring harness change sounds like quite a major fix, or is it just a short section? The bypass fits into the car side of the harness, breaking the link between the seat and car, and is a male fitting into a female...

Re: Passenger seat airbag light

It does have an airbag, and it has been reset using the plug in diagnotic kit that identifies the fault code, and displays as a message on the screen what the fault is. If you then reset it using the same kit, the fault, goes off the screen and the airbag light goes out, but it only stays off for a ...

Passenger seat airbag light

A while ago I took out my perfectly functioning cloth interior on my 1998 1.9, and fitted a leather one. The airbag light came on, and the diagnostic machine indicated it was the passenger occupancy mat. Unfortunately I did'nt try and get it reset before I sold my old interior. I've since tried anot...

Good decision - I've looked long and hard at Z4's and mulled it over several times, they are lovely, but the Z3 stands out and is just fun :)

Replacing Driving Mirror

I'm having a new windscreen in my car next Saturday as mine has cracked. I thought I would take the opportunity to replace the driving mirror with something a little smaller, as the standard one is distractingly large in left handers sometimes, and I end up ducking and moving in the seat to look aro...

Re: Torn Between Two Cars

If the power isn't an issue, the 2.0 for me is a classy looking thing that's been looked after. Top down, sunny evening, I'd be really proud of that.
The black one doesn't look special or cared for from the pictures, I'd lookat a couple of other 6's before buying that :)

Re: To clear or not to clear- snow on a roadster roof

I managed to get my softop cover on that I got off Buztops, as in one of the threads in here. My car looks much like the one in the picture, and my roofs bit aged, so I think that's got to help and makes me feel a bit easier for the £60 it cost :)

Seat Occupancy Sensor Bypass

Hi I recently fitted a leather interior to my Z3, and all has gone well except with the new passenger seat the airbag light is showing, which wasn't a problem with my old seat. I have tried a seat occupancy bypass sensor from the usual auction website, and have found that with it fitted, the light g...

Re: CAT D Question

I'd be careful. A friend of mine who was a bit careful with his cash, brought a Z3m and then a Porsche a few years ago, both Cat D damaged repairs, and neither ever looked quite right (from certain angles in different lights, with the paint and body lines) and the Porsche was nothing like it should ...

Hi I've got a 98 1.9 Z3 with a fairly modern Sony Radio fitted, and have found that when I try and tune the radio in, it picks up different channels depending on where I am, sometimes picking up the ones on the presets, on the preset, but not the same channels (sometimes any channels!) when you hit ...

On the window problem, when I brought mine, both the windows were stop and start from lack of use (no clunks though!) I sprayed 'Halfords Silicone Lubricant' on both sides of the glass at the door seal, and left them a couple of days, then started to use the windows regularly when I use the car. It ...
