I have steering wheel jealously. I did mine today with cheap Simonez leather cleaning tissues and Autoglym leather balm. It came up good but not as good as yours.

I'll have to buy some of that Gliptone stuff.

Indeed. But if you scroll down you'll see that it is not OE spec and they even have a table showing the differences which are numerous.

Windscreen finally done yesterday. Having been promised an OE spec screen off the same production line as a BMW part a Safevue brand was fitted.

I'm struggling to find anything about this brand but the little I can find suggests it is not OE spec.

Does anyone know anything of Safevue?

I think you're right not to attempt it yourself because if the stitching is going you will get into problems. The engine bay looks untouched.

A friend owes a salvage business in The Netherlands. I understand from him sales of salvage are very closely governed in the country. Only 5 or 6 companies have salvage licenses. So if anyone is interested then in theory you should be buying from an honourable source.

Well even if National/Autoglass use product from the same production line as the OEM item I don't think it would necessarily be from the original build manufacturer. Once you've dismantled the mirror, you can use the dremmel to clean and buff the metal alloy parts before re-assembly. Autoglass fitted an OEM quarterlight as a replacement to mine some years back. I don't know if anyone else even manufactures replacement Z3 windscreens. The dealer will probably just contract it out to a windscreen fitter anyway. And if they don't, I'd probably rather have Autoglass or similar do it, as they fit windscreens every day, than have the workshop junior have a go! It's Dick Lovett who have their own bodyshops and Ferrari/Porsche dealersh...

Being the pedant I am the full design option seems like an interesting one to make sure the whole plate is replicated (font/spacing of actual index). Why not just claim on your insurance for a new screen? It won't affect your premium or NCB. Tell them what happened if you want to be honest with them, and see if it's still covered. They are but they've changed the design now and tend to be very expensive. I guess it's not impossible they keep their old designs on file.

I am breaking a pre facelift currently. I can get the vents off (they're black) but it won't be until Friday.

I've already had the passenger vent off for my car and the sealing foam was in good order on that.
