Well I fitted 10mm EIBACH spacers on each side (total track widening = 20mm). Happy to say that they don't look chav at all, actually, the whole setup maintains a very OEM appearance. The spacers helped my alloys fill the arches much better than before and they were a very tight fit and there's stil...

Regarding the switches, my car has all the blanks filled up so there wouldn't be any space to put the roof switch!! Unless I swapped it with something like the ASC button... However if you have some blanks, then transferring the switch would be a piece of cake. However, regarding the OBC, I wholehea...

I remember looking at the TIS instructions on how to change the dash a couple of years ago and it didn't look too hard. Actually the Z3 is built in such an uncomplicated manner, I would be surprised if you needed more than a couple of screwdrivers to do the whole thing. For that price, buy the dash ...

Thanks to all of you guys, much appreciated. I ordered the 20mm (10 on each side), waiting to see how it looks. I'll leave the stereo for now (got an E46 M3 steering wheel instead, I promise to post pics of how it looks in the car soon, if it fits!!) I think the spacers will definitely be an improve...

Thanks, I meant 20mm total (i.e. 10mm each side) :))))) Not trying to build a monster truck here!! Unfortunately the car is abroad so I can't really measure it, but I was wondering if anyone had gone down the same route here and could recommend a size (and hopefully share some pics). Having searched...

Thanks guys, My photoshopping must be getting better if you couldn't tell it was a copy-paste job :) Both pics are photoshopped, so the fitting would probably be much better (I hope). Rear spacers for facelift Z3 + new head unit
Guys, I need to decide on some Xmas prezzies for my Z. I was looking at some pics of my Z and started thinking the rear wheels could do with some spacers to fill the arches more nicely. Anyone know what size I should go for? I was thinking about 20mm H&R from www.motorsportworld.co.uk (they sell...

Sounds like Norton's to blame. Did you install this recently and have you got it permanently on and sweeping every single file that gets opened up? Documents scanned recently won't be scanned again if you try to open them again, but those that haven't will be, invoking Norton AV, which will take a m...

There was an MZ4 steering wheel on eBay recently, the owner claimed it fit the e46 steering column perfectly and had piccies to prove. The airbag connectors also apparently fit correctly (obviously no connectors for the multifunction system though). So as long as your Z3 is a facelift (post-2000), t...

Chris you're right - in theory they should pay back. However this somehow beyond the point. The fact is that the guy wanted a neat TT the way he wanted it, and now because of the inspection, he has to deal with a car that could well prove to be stolen, or put together from halves or god knows what e...

A word of warning regarding RAC and AA inspections: A friend of mine bought a TT a few months ago from a dealer but thought it'd be worth having it fully AA inspected (yes, the expensive one), as he's not mechanically-minded (for lack of a better term!!). The car was badged as a a quattro, advertise...

I don't know about the leather, it was just an idea off the top of my head :) I would imagine you'd need a thin sheet of leather, a good pair of scissors and some adhesive. Maybe you could get an expert car trimmer to do it for you. Don't know how hard it would be but if successful, it should be meg...

My e46 oil level light comes on for about 10 seconds after I've started the engine and then goes out. This is due to an errant oil level sensor, nothing to worry about, as long as the car's not loosing any oil of course!!! It's not an expensive fault to fix but it requires a change of oil and as I o...

E46 M3 steering wheel in facelift Z3
Well... I'm thinking about keeping the airbag from my original steering wheel and just changing the rim for that of an E46 M3. They look like they accept the same airbag type for my 2000 facelift (sport steering wheel with the twin bottom spokes) so I'm wondering if it's doable!!! The realOEM diagra...
