I couldn't even sell a set of these for £50 when I tried, granted mine aren't in as good condition as yours but it does point towards them not being in demand. Ended up leaving them stacked up in my shed as spares.

You need to rev the 16-valve engine to get the most out of it, whereas the 6-cyclinder 2.0 should be smoother and lazier. What Robert failed to mention is that the 6 cyl engines absolutely come alive after 4000 RPM  ..this is why my MPG is sitting at around 19 since the Z3 got promoted to ...

Don't get too hung up on the mileage, the engines in Z3s tend to be pretty much bulletproof if they're well maintained. With a Z3 at 15k I'd actually be worried that it's been sat around and not maintained properly especially if it's an older one, or even worse driven by an old lady to the shops and...

I bought black race mesh as didn't want the chrome look on the lower grill, cost me £20 or so for a sheet that will do it at least twice incase you mess the first one up. :D Got any pics of this fitted? If it's due an oil service it should say OILSERVICE above the lights, like this. Alternatively it can say INSPECTION on the right hand side, although this doesn't give an indication of whether it's an inspection 1 or 2 it'll atleast give a clue. You do need to wait for the last green light to go out...

Assuming it's mechanically sound, then I'd say you've got yourself a fantastic deal. All those faults are minor and easy to fix, and you've got yourself a 3.0 for £200 more than I paid for my 2.8 18 months ago! Nice choice of colour too

I'm insured with Lockton, and they were fantastic when I set up my policy. A lot of the others either didn't consider the Z3 to be a classic, or insisted in it being garaged (hard without a garage to put it in). I've had a quick scan around and think I'm looking at either the 2.8 or 3.0 variants. Apparently the difference is due to addatives in the non-supermarket fuel, at which stage they're added I don't know. I use Shell V-Power in the Z because I only fill it up once a month, but use Sainsbury's diesel in my 307 and get 55mpg+ so the fancy diesel would be pointless expenditure.
